Chrome 56 for Android gets new download section and more

Google released Chrome 56 for Mac, Windows and PC last week. Now it has started rolling Chrome 56 for Android that brings a bunch of new features and improvements.

First up, the update adds new Tab page that lets you access downloaded files and web pages. Next up, you can now tap on emails, addresses, and phone numbers in webpages. The new version also brings the ability to long press article suggestions on the new tab page to download them. Along with the aforementioned features, the latest update also includes performance and stability fixes. Finally, the update also offers new reload behavior which refreshes pages 28 percent faster while using less power and bandwidth.

Meanwhile, Chrome for iOS will now let you scan a QR code or barcode by using 3D Touch on the app logo or searching for “QR” in Spotlight. The update also redesigns the tab switcher layout on iPad to make it easier to access open sites.
