HomeShop18 has rolled out 9 new smartphones, including a Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone in India. This includes Micromax Win W121 and Canvas A82 smartphones that were already launched. Other new smartphones include, Spice Mi-501, Spice Mi-402, Spice Mi-401, Spice Mi-514, Spice Mi-347, Spice Mi-551 and Celkon A356. It has also released Spice M-6115, which is a feature phone. Xolo today announced that the it will roll out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for its Xolo One budget smartphone starting January 16. It already promised to offer Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the smartphone when it launched back in October last year running Android 4.4 (KitKat). Xolo is not part of the Android One program, and it is really good to see the company offering Android Lollipop update for the Xolo One before the Android One devices. Micromax’s YU has announced that it sold 10,000 units of Yureka smartphones in just 3 seconds in its first flash sale on Amazon.in. Over 3 lakh people had registered for today’s sale. Since everyone tried to buy the smartphone, the website crashed immediately after the sale was open. Some managed to order, but most users were frustrated since they couldn’t get the smartphone. Micromax intelligently roped in Cyanogen Inc. for its first YU branded device and launched the YU YUREKA budget smartphone last month running Cyanogen OS at Rs. 8,999. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G went on sale in India last month for Rs. 9,999. Both the smartphones are competitively priced and come with 4G connectivity. You might have already seen the photo gallery comparing the YU YUREKA and the Xiaomi Redmi Note. The Redmi Note 4G has the same design, but the internals are slightly different. We decided to compare these smartphones.

It was announced at the CES last week, packs a 7-inch (1024 x 600) IPS display, is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT8382M SoCs and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. It has WiFi support, VGA front-facing camera, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expansion slot and packs a 3450mAh battery. It has front-facing speaker, Dolby audio and comes pre-loaded with Lenovo DOit apps. Lenovo has tied up with Snapeal to sell the tablet. 10,000 YU YUREKA units to go on sale on Jan 13th, receives over 3 lakh registrations

Micromax’s YU plans to sell 10,000 units of YUREKA smartphones on its first flash sale on January 13th, tomorrow at 2PM on Amazon.in, according to a report from PTI (via ET). The company has received over three lakh registrations for the smartphone, and it had to close the registration a day before the actual date of December 25th due to tremendous response, said Micromax co-founder Rahul Sharma to PTI.
