After rolling out Android 10 update to Galaxy A30 earlier this month, Samsung has started rolling out stable version of One UI 2.0, the next major One UI update based on Android 10 for its Galaxy A50s in India. It was supposed to get the update in April 2020, according to its schedule, but the company has rolled it out early. This brings clean and easy-to-use interface with minimized pop-ups, New, smarter layout for a visually comfortable experience, enhanced Dark Mode, Focus Mode, Intuitive Device Care menu and more, but it still doesn’t have built-in screen recorder. HTC has introduced Wildfire R70, the company’s latest smartphone in India after Wildfire X back in August last year. It has a 6.53-inch HD+ waterdrop notch display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P23 SoC with 2GB RAM, runs Android Pie, has a 16-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel super macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensing camera for portrait shots. OPPO has launched A31 smartphone in India after it was introduced in Indonesia recently. The phone packs a 6.5-inch HD+ screen, is powered by MediaTek Helio P35 SoC with 4GB of RAM, packs 12-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapixel depth and 2-megapixel cameras. There is also an 8-megapixel front camera. It features a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and packs a 4230mAh battery. The Indian wearable market saw a massive growth of 168.3% year-over-year (YoY) growth in 2019, shipping about 14.9 million units during the year. Of this 5.1 million units were shipped in the Q4 of 2019 alone. Ear-wear saw a huge YoY growth of 443.6% and wrist band wearables saw a growth of 52.6% YoY.
Rumors about Apple’s own retail outlet in India has been surfacing for quite some time now. Yesterday at its annual shareholders meeting at Steve Jobs Theater Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that Apple will open its first retail store in India in 2021. He said that the company had to seek special approval for this because the Indian government wanted it to work with a partner. “We wouldn’t be a very good partner in retail. realme launched the realme 5 smartphone back in August, since then the company had launched several smartphones in the realme 5 series including the realme 5s with a 48MP rear camera and the realme 5i. Today the realme India CEO Madhav Seth has posted an image captured using the upcoming realme 6 smartphone, which confirms quad camera setup, similar to the realme 5 series, but this has a 64-megapixel main camera. It has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Infinity-U Super AMOLED display and is powered by the latest Exynos 9611 10nm SoC with up to 6GB of RAM, same as the M30s, but this has a 64-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel 123° ultra-wide angle camera, 5-megapixel depth sensor, 5-megapixel macro camera and a 32-megapixel camera on the front.
