MediaTek Dimensity 800U to power 5G smartphones in India starting January 2021

MediaTek introduced its Dimensity 800U mid-range 5G SoC back in August and it powers several 5G smartphones in China. At the India Mobile Congress 2020 the SoC announced for the Indian market and the company has confirmed that the first phone powered by the Dimesnity 800U processor will be introduced in January 2021. MediaTek Dimensity 800U with support for Dual SIM 5G, up to 120Hz displays announced

MediaTek just announced Dimensity 800U, the company’s latest mid-range 5G SoC, a cheaper version of the Dimensity 800 that introduced earlier this year, but this comes with cutting-edge technologies such as 5G+5G dual SIM dual standby (DSDS), dual Voice over New Radio (VoNR), and 5G two carrier aggregation (2CC 5G-CA). With the MediaTek 5G UltraSave technology, the modem’s operating mode is managed based on network environment and data transmission quality, extending the battery life of mobile devices.
