MapmyIndia has launched ShowNearby app for Blackberry, Android and iPhone, that lets the users to search and discover all places of interest nearby, such as restaurants, ATMs, petrol pumps, retail brands, coffee shops, tourist spots, emergency services etc. across India. This is powered by digital map data from MapmyIndia with Singapore’s leading location app ShowNearby. Micromax A85 now available in India for Rs.18990

Micromax A85, the company’s first high-end Android phone is now available in India. It is branded as Micromax Superfone A85 and it is powered by a 1 GHz Dual Core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo) that is upgradable to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has gesture controls in Contacts, Call Logs, Messaging, Email, Calendar, Gallery and Music Player and also has voice controls. It has 3.8-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display with gorilla glass to protect it from scratches, 5MP camera and 0.3MP front video calling camera. Motorola Defy+ Rugged Android phone now available in India for Rs.17990

Motorola Defy+ that is the successor of the Motorola Defy is now available in India. The phone was announced this August and it features 3.7 inch (480 x 854 pixels) display and is Water and scratch resistant and dustproof. It is powered by 1GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It comes with a 5 MP camera with LED/Supercap flash with video recording at 30 fps. It is 13.4 mm thick and weighs 118 g. HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio up for pre-order at Rs. 32400

HTC announced the HTC Sensation XE, their first phone with Beats audio integration this September. The phone is now available for pre-order from the Online retailer Flipkart and it is expected to be available this month. Samsung GALAXY Note launched in India at Rs. 34990

Samsung has launched their new Android smartphone device, the Samsung GALAXY Note. It has 5.3 inch (1280 x 800 pixels), 285 PPI HD Super AMOLED display which is the largest on any phone till date. It features 1.4GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has advanced pen-input technology, called the S Pen for sketching and artwork. It is 9.65mm thick and weighs 178g. TRAI increases daily SMS limit from 100 to 200

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) restricted the mobile users from sending more than 100 SMS / day per SIM starting 27th September 2011, to prevent pesky marketing SMS. Now TRAI has increased the limit from 100 to 200 SMS / day per SIM after they received representations from some of the service providers and consumers to increase the limit of 100 SMS per day per SIM.
