Google Nexus 5 now available for purchase on Play Store in India

Google has finally started selling the all new Nexus 5 on the Play Store in India after being listed as coming soon after the global announcement. The 16GB version is listed at Rs.28999 as hinted before and the 32GB version is listed at Rs.32999. Both the 16GB and 32GB models in both black and white colours are available for purchase. The Nexus 5 is already on sale at LG dealerships at select cities in India at a slightly higher price of Rs.29999 for the 16GB model and Rs.33999 for the 32GB model. Great to see LG and Google bringing a device to the Indian market within days or weeks of the US launch with some reasonable pricing too!

HTC announced the One Max with a  5.9 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display and a finger print sensor. We already brought you the unboxing of the device, here we have the benchmarks of the device. The phone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU similar to the HTC One. It runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with the new HTC Sense 5.5 UI. Let’s find out how it performs in various synthetic benchmark tests.

Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy Note 2 (GT-N7100) users in India. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was the first device in India to get the Android 4.3 update in India last month. The Galaxy Note 2 was launched in India back in September last year running on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It got the Android 4.1.2 update back in December 2012 that brought customizable Notification Panel, new Notification Toggles, new keyboard with gesture typing and more. Samsung has decided to update the phone directly to Android 4.3, skipping the Android 4.2 update, just like the Galaxy S3. Intex to launch a 6-inch HD smartphone with 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor

Intex has announced that the company has tied-up with MediaTek again to launch India’s first smartphone featuring MediaTek’s MT6592 True Octa-Core processor. The upcoming Intex smartphone doesn’t have a name yet, but it would feature a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS  display and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It would feature a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera similar to the Aqua i7. Twitter partners with Star Sports to offer in-stream videos on mobile

Starsports.com and Twitter have partnered to offer in-stream videos on starsports.com for Twitter users, without leaving Twitter. As part of the partnership, whenever a link to starsports.com is tweeted, Twitter users on mobile will have the option to download the starsports.com application. Once the mobile application is installed, they will be able to open the app directly by clicking the tweeted link, to watch the video. Nexus 5 India launch imminent as stocks begin to arrive across the country

The much awaited Google Nexus 5 is expected to launch in India as early as next week. LG Stores, LG Shoppes and retailer sources across various cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai have confirmed to us that stocks will be arriving by Monday. Google has already listed the Nexus 5 on the Play Store at Rs. 28,999 for the 16GB version and Rs. 32,999 for the 32GB version, but LG would sell the phones in the market at Rs. 29,999 for the 16GB version and Rs. 33,999 for the 32GB version, which is Rs. 1000 higher than the Play Store pricing.

Lenovo has launched two new multimode Android tablets, the Yoga Tablet 8 and Yoga Tablet 10 in India. Lenovo Yoga allows the users to experience the tablet in three modes – hold, tilt and stand mode. The Yoga 10 inch and Yoga 8 inch models are powered by 1.2GHz MediaTek MT8389 Quad Core processors and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The front speakers with Dolby audio provide a powerful surround sound experience through the device speakers and headphones. Both these tablets were announced last month. After rolling out the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update in the UK last week, HTC has started rolling out the update in India. The update started rolling out in Taiwan back in September, and the UK users got v3.62.401.1. Update for the Indian users has the version number 3.63.707.4. Xolo Q1000 Opus powered by Broadcom BCM23550 quad-core chip launching this month

Xolo has announced that the company has partnered with Broadcom to launched the Xolo Q1000 Opus powered by Broadcom BCM23550 later this month.  Broadcom signed up for  ARMv7 and ARMv8 Architecture licenses earlier this year and announced the chip back in June, which has four ARM Cortex A7 Cores. The chip has support for Broadcom’s BCM4334 connectivity combo chip with 3G HSPA+ (HSPDA: 21Mbps; HSUPA 5.8 Mbps) connectivity and and BCM4752 multi-constellation GNSS location chip. It also has support for NFC, up to 12MP imaging, Dual SIM support and 1080p HD video capture and playback. Xolo launched the Q900, the company latest mid-range smartphone in the Q CORE series few weeks back, we brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). Apart from the Camera, most of the specifications are almost similar to the Intex Aqua HD that we reviewed recently. Let’s find out how this compete with other devices in range of synthetic benchmark tests.
