Simmtronics entered into smartphone segment with its new FUNDROID, AMAZOID and SMARTDROID last month. It introduced XPAD FUNDROID Q1XPAD FUNDROID Q2XPAD FUNDROID Q4XPAD FUNDROID Q5 and the XPAD AMAZOID M1. Now the company has launched all these devices officially and revealed their pricing as well. Simmtronics Xpad Turbo (X-723), a 7-inch tablet with dual SIM support went on sale online back in December, now the company has officially launched the tablet. It has a 7-inch ( 1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel pixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has 3G data connectivity and voice calling through dual SIM card slots and packs a 2800 mAh battery. Lenovo IdeaPad A10 Android-based notebook launched in India for Rs. 19990

Lenovo IdeaPad A10, the company’s first Android based dual-mode notebook in India. It has first introduced last year and packs a 10.1-inch (1366 x 768 pixels) 10-point multi-touch display. It has laptop and stand modes and can flip 300 degrees. It weighs about 1 kilograms, powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and runs on customized Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. OPlus launches XonPad 7 tablet with 1.2 Ghz Quad Core processor, 7″ display for Rs. 9,990

OPlus has partnered with Snapdeal to launch a new 7 inch tablet called the XonPad7. The tablet is powered by a 1.2Ghz Quad Core Processor built on the 28nm process which should help increase battery longevity a bit. The specifications include 1GB of RAM as well as a 3G capabilities which means that you’ll be able to pop in a SIM card and surf the internet without having to rely on WiFI connectivity. The tablet is capable of voice calling.

You also the standard WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The XonPad7 has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing shooter. Users get Android 4.2 onboard the tablet. There’s 16GB of storage that can be expanded thanks to the microSD card slot. The battery rated at 3,500 mAh should be good enough for over a day of usage. The display has a resolution of 1280 x 800 which is just about sufficient for a 7 inch panel. Being an IPS display, viewing angles are quite decent. OPlus has partnered with Snapdeal for online distribution. The tablet is priced at Rs. 9,990.

It has a 3.0-inch QVGA (320 x 240 pixels) display and runs on the latest Nokia Asha software platform v1.1 with Swipe UI. Xolo partners with AMD for its first 10.1″ Windows 8 tablet – Xolo Win

Xolo, the Indian company known for its range of low cost smartphones, has just unveiled its first Windows 8 tablet at CES 2014 – the Xolo Win, powered by the AMD A4 Elite mobility processor. This is a first for XOLO as well as AMD, as this is the first Windows tablet for the former while it is the first APU-powered tablet for the latter. Sporting a 10.1″ inch screen with a 1366×768 resolution, the mid range tablet will take on the likes of the first generation Surface with similar specifications, but with full Windows 8 functionality. It will have 2 GB of RAM, rear and front facing cameras and a battery that supposedly lasts up to 7 hours. The Xolo Win is slated to be released in the Indian market by the end of January 2014.

Nokia has finally launched the Lumia 1320, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone as it promised last month. It was announced at the Nokia World last year and packs a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD LCD IPS Super sensitive display and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8 OS with the latest Lumia Black update. Nokia announced the Lumia 525 in India at the 6th Annual Strategy Sharing Summit in Goa last month. The company has finally announced the price of the device. It was unveiled last year and has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) IPS display at 235 ppi, super sensitive touch for finger nail and glove use and is powered by a 1 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor. Micromax LapTab dual boot Android and Windows 8.1 device announced

Popular budget smartphone brand, Micromax, just announced its entry into a brand new product category. At the Consumer Electronics Show, The company has announced a dual boot tablet that will join its line of products which includes smartphones, tablets and HDTVs.

Called the LapTab, the Micromax product will be powered by an Intel Atom processor. The device will run both Windows 8.1 and Android Jelly Bean so that you can switch between the two depending on your usage requirement. The rest of the specifications are fairly mid range. Following the price cuts of the BlackBerry Z10 and the BlackBerry Q10 last year, BlackBerry has cut the price of the BlackBerry Q5 to Rs. 19,990 as a part of festive offer. The BlackBerry Q5 was launched in India back in July 2013 at a price tag of Rs. 24990. It packs a 3.1-inch (720 x 720 pixels) capactive touch screen IPS display at 330 PPI pixel density,  powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on BlackBerry 10 OS.

Broadcom, a company that powers most of the WiFiac chips inside smartphones these days had been very quiet in the SoC business, but they had recently announced new chips and a partnership with Xolo for their Quad Core low end chip. The fruition of that partnership is the Xolo Q1000 Opus, yet another Q1000 that looks and performs nothing like the other one. This low-mid range device, that launched to retail in December last year, is priced at Rs. 9,990 and has modest specifications to rival the competition in the same segment. Nokia Lumia 1020 and Lumia 520 emerge as the favourites in #SmartFone13

Nokia-Lumia-1020-Review-62013 came to an end a few days back and so did our quest to see which two phones would emerge as the favourites in our #Smartfone13 championship for flagships as well as budget devices. Two major polls were run in parallel for about a week with several phones knocked out in the weeks before, to bring the tally to the final four. It was Sony Xperia Z1 vs the Nokia Lumia 1020 for the flagship battle and the Nokia Lumia 520 vs the Gionee Elife E6 for the budget devices battle, with the Lumias ending up as the winners. How?
