Apple is bringing tablet education to India through its iTunes Textbooks and iTunes U Course Manager. Apple has just expanded the availability of its iTunes Textbooks to 51 countries and the availability of iTunes Course U Manager to 70 countries. With the expansion of its iTunes Textbooks and iTunes U Course Manager, Apple hopes to sell more tablets in more countries in the education sector.

The Nokia Lumia 525, a newly launched device that we unboxed recently, has been known to be a slightly upgraded variant of the Lumia 520. It carries almost exactly the same spec sheet and hardware except for the RAM, which has been upped to 1 GB for obvious reasons. With an incredibly small change in hardware, one would expect everything else to remain the same. But that is not the case with the 525, because it comes with Lumia Black firmware update out of the box, which brings some algorithm-level changes to the already robust camera interface, the Nokia Camera. So, does this change the 520/5’s camera performance in any way? Lets find out from some of our camera samples.
Metis Learning, an education start-up has launched Eddy, the company’s first Android-based learning tablet for kids. The tablet comes with 150 learning games that are linked to school curriculum, covering key learning areas including language, math and creativity. These games are highly engaging, violence-free and enjoyable for children. It is targeted at children aged 2-10 years and has educator-selected learning content. Intex Aqua Curve in the Aqua series appeared on the official Intex website yesterday, now Intex Aqua i15 with a 6-inch qHD display has appeared on official website along with four new Cloud series smartphones, Cloud Y12, Cloud Y11, Cloud X11 and Cloud X1+ smartphones. Motorola Moto G was expected to be launched in India later this month, now Motorola has officially announced that India launch details would be unveiled on February 5th 2014. At the Moto G launch back in November, Motorola announced that the Moto G would be available in India early January 2014, but it didn’t happen. Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand 2 (G7102), the company’s latest mid-range smartphone last month, which went on sale in India last week. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks of the device. Samsung already confirmed that the phone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon processor, as you can see from the CPU-Z shot above it is clear that phone has a quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8226) ARM Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.19 GHz with Adreno 305 GPU, similar to the Motorola Moto G. Last year’s Galaxy Grand was powered by a dual-core Broadcom BCM28155 processor. It has a 5.25-inch (1280 x 720 Pixels) display and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI on top. LG Electronics introduced the G Flex, the company’s first curved smartphone back in October, which went on sale in Korea in November. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos was the first device from the Korean chaebol to land its foot it in the highly competitive mid range phablet market. It was a big success, at least in the Indian market, but now we have its successor, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. With an upgraded spec sheet that includes a better display, better processor and the Note 3-esque faux leather back cover, the Grand 2 has caught our fancy, especially at the price of Rs. 22,999. The Dell Venue 8 Pro, a 8 inch Windows 8.1 tablet that we reviewed earlier, has been officially launched in India by Dell for a price of Rs. 26,499 for the base 32 GB WiFi model. Powered by the Intel Atom Z3740D Bay Trail Quad Core processor running at 1.8 GHz, the Venue 8 Pro offers the full Windows experience, with surprisingly decent gaming performance to boot. One of the thinnest Windows tablets around, the Venue 8 Pro joins the Acer Iconia W4 in its foray into the increasingly crowded small tablet market, with the added advantage of a full fledged desktop operating system, made easier for touch.
