Worldwide smartphone shipment growth fell flat for first time and this is the smallest year-over-year growth on record. According to a report from IDC,  vendors shipped a total of 334.9 million smartphones worldwide in the first quarter of 2016 (1Q16), up slightly from the 334.3 million units in 1Q15.

Worldwide wearables market soar 126.9% in Q4 2015, Fitbit continues reign: IDC

Buoyed by the growing popularity of fitness trackers and the Apple Watch, the worldwide wearable device market showed a notable increase in Q4 2015.  As per the International Data Corporation (IDC)Worldwide Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker, vendors shipped  27.4 million units in the Q4 2015, a 126.9 percent increase from the year before.

Global wearable device sales to soar 18.4% in 2016: Gartner

Worldwide wearable devices sales to hit 274.6 million in 2016, up 18.4 percent from 232.0 million units in 2015, according to the latest forecast from Gartner. The market is further expected to grow to 322.69 million wearable electronic devices in 2017 from 232.01 million units in 2015.

Chinese smartphone shipments grew 3 percent annually to hit a record 438 million units in 2015, according to the latest report from Strategy Analytics. Global wearables shipments to cross 200 Million in 2019: Report

Worldwide wearables markets will see continued growth as second- and third-generation iterations reach the market, according a latest forecast from IDC. The research firm stated that the worldwide wearable device market that includes smartwatches and fitness trackers, will reach a total of 111.1 million units in 2016, up a strong 44.4% from the 80 million units expected to ship shipped in 2015.

2015 will be the first full year of single-digit worldwide smartphone growth, according to a latest forecast from IDC. The research firm has predicted that worldwide smartphone shipments will grow 9.8% in 2015 to a total of 1.43 billion units.

Samsung Exynos 8890 with custom cores for Galaxy S7 said to enter mass production in December
