Google Nexus 10 Unboxing

The Nexus program from Google has been transforming from a developer focused one to a completely consumer focused one. The message is very clear, Google wants to use its services(Google Play) and the best possible way to use them is by buying their Nexus devices. Starting from the Nexus One, the program has seen many phones, till the Nexus 4(See our unboxing here) a 7 inch tablet made by ASUS, the Nexus 7, but we never got to see a 10 inch one. But then, amidst “Sandy”, Google launched the first 10 inch Nexus device – The Google Nexus 10, made by Samsung. And yes, we have got it in our hands already, after a terrible launch delay. Samsung Galaxy Music Duos now available in India for Rs. 8999


Samsung Galaxy Music Duos (GT-S6012) Dual SIM phone is now available from online retailer Snapdeal in India. It was announced in October and comes with a 3-inch (240×320) display, 850 MHz processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) that is upgradable to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) in future. It has Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) support with Always On feature that automatically forwards calls from the phone number on SIM 2, even if a user is on the phone with SIM 1’s number. Rockstar games has released the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for Android, iPhone and iPad as they announced. They are celebrating 10th anniversary of their popular Game by launching it on iOS and Android.  They already posted list of supported iOS and Android devices. This would have high-end graphics, custom controls with precisely tailored firing and targeting options and more. Google Search for Android updated with improved Google Now suggestions, new Voice actions

Google has updated the Google Search app for Android devices running on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). This  brings new Google Now cards for nearby events, Travel cards with boarding passes (US only), Weather cards with weather alert at upcoming travel destination, Birthday cards that lets you know about your friends’ Birthdays, New voice actions to find out the songs and to scan a bar code. Apple iPad 4 Priced at Rs.31900 , coming soon to India

 

Apple is expected to launch the iPad 4 (4th Gen) in India soon along with the iPad mini.The base 16GB WiFi only version is expected to be launched at Rs.31900.The iPad 4 was announced just under 6 months after the iPad 3’s launch which has caused a lot of disappointment amongst iPad 3 owners including myself . The main changes on the 4th gen iPad include the faster A6X processor , lightning connector and faster WiFi and LTE support. If you own a iPad 3 , you can hang on to it for a while but if you are using an iPad 2 and looking to upgrade , you can surely consider the iPad 4. Apple is just calling it the iPad with Retina Display !

Sony Xperia E and Xperia E dual with 3.5-inch display, 1GHz processor announced

Sony has announced Xperia E and Xperia E dual, new Android Smartphones in the Xperia series. The Xperia E is the single SIM phone, while the Xperia E dual comes with dual-SIM support. These phones have a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A processor similar to the Xperia J. Xperia E comes with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), while the Xperia E dual would launch on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and is upgradable to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Foursquare for iPhone has been updated to version 5.3.5 that brings faster check-ins, new check-in screen with map of the location with photo attachment at the top and the check-in button at the bottom. This update also has check-in highlights under the friends’ check-ins and notifications of newly updated places. The previous v5.3.3 update for iPhone brought ratings for places. Facebook has updated their Messenger app for Android to version 2.2.1. Even though this is a minor update to fix some bugs, this update adds new feature that enables new users to sign up using their name and phone number. Google has updated the Gmail app for iPhone and iPad to version 2.0. The new Gmail v2.0 for iOS brings redesigned UI, Multiple account support, search predictions and more new features. Google released the Gmail app for iPhone and iPad last November. Google acquired  Sparrow, a popular email app for Mac and iOS earlier this year, but the new Gmail app lacks several features that sparrow had such as universal inbox and gestures.
