Huawei has announced the MediaPad 7 Vogue, the company’s latest tablet in the MediaPad series. It has first mentioned at the official MWC press release back in February and leaked in March. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) IPS display, similar to the Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite that was launched in India last November. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core K3V2 HiSilicon processor with 16 Core graphics and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei’s Emotion UI 1.5 on top. It has 3G connectivity through a SIM card slot and supports voice calls. It has a 3-megapixel rear camera, 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera and has sleek aluminum metal unibody design. Facebook adds Like Button sticker in Messenger for Android, iPhone and iPad

Facebook has started rolling out Like button sticker for the Android and iOS apps in Messaging. This works on both Facebook app and the separate Facebook Messenger app. This lets you send a quick Thumbs Up symbol to others in on tap quickly. This would be definitely useful to quickly reply with a Like button instead of a long message to accept something. Facebook says that this feature is part of a recent update, according to Techcrunch. Gionee has started teasing their upcoming Elife E6, successor of the Elife E3 on their Facebook page. The company’s flagship smartphone in the Elife series would feature a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and come with a 13-megapixel rear camera. According to the website mtksj, the phone has a Mediatek MT6589T processor with 357 MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. It comes with YAMAHA 168 music system for enhanced audio experience, inbuilt Protection Software and has dual SIM support with dual standby. This has exactly same specs as the XDS including a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz Dual-core processor and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP auto focus rear camera with LED Flash. In packs a 1800 mAh battery and has built-in Beats Audio support. Vine for Android updated with better Search, Facebook sharing and more

Twitter released the Vine video sharing app for Android earlier this month. The app has been updated to version 1.1 that brings option to search for people and hashtags and ability to share to Facebook . This also improves the capture speed, quality and better audio/video sync. It also has several bug fixes and UI improvements, says the changelog. Option to use the phone’s front-facing camera and option to tag people in your post are not available yet. Vine 1.1 for iPhone got an update last month that brought option to use the front-facing camera to record videos and tagging function. Apple now uses Google-like distribution chart to show iOS fragmentation

Google started publishing Android version distribution charts for various platforms in 2010 on their Android developer page. Now Apple has followed them and published their iOS distribution Pie chart similar to Google. Apple announced at the WWDC 2013 earlier this month that 93% of App Store customers are using the latest iOS 6. Now the distribution numbers are up on the Apple Developer website. The chart shows that 6% of customers using iOS 5 and just 1% are still stuck with versions older than iOS 5. Samsung is now no.1 in India, leaps ahead of Nokia in overall mobile shipments

Nokia had been the no. 1 in overall shipments for a long time in India, mainly because the country was a feature phone market. But as the market has now matured, Nokia is finding it tough to adapt with its new Windows Phone strategy.
