Google developing Android gaming console, new Nexus Q and more for the big refresh – WSJ

The Wall Street Journal is always a bit of a hit or miss when it comes to rumours and its sources, so take this with a pinch of slat. Google is reportedly developing its own Android based gaming console, inspired by the Ouya, says the publication according to “people familiar with the matter”. This doesn’t come as a surprise because a start up funded by Kickstarter has already pioneered this idea in the form of the Ouya, and just like what Google did after the Kindle Fire, we guess it will take the opportunity to follow through with the disruption.

Firefox Beta for Android updated with new Awesome Bar, updated RSS feed reader and more

Firefox has updated the beta version of the Android app to version 23 that brings lot of new features. The Awesome Bar now automatically hides while not in use, to make your entire small screen available for browsing. It also includes domain autocomplete, which will complete your URL destination as you type. The update also lets you add default search provider directly from the add-ons manager and adds updated RSS feed reader to create a simple way to subscribe to an RSS feed. The update also brings support for Turkish and Hungarian locales.

New Android 4.3 camera and gallery app emerges [Download]

It was rumoured that Android 4.3 will be launched with the stock HTC One version, but there was no trace of the new version of Android when the device was launched recently. Recently the camera interface for the Android 4.3 was leaked by someone having 4.3 running on a Nexus 4 at a Thai expo. The new UI was supposed to come with Android 4.3, instead Google has decided to put some new features of Android 4.3 on these phones instead of the complete new update. Now, we have the apk and you can install it in any device just like you install any application.

It has a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash with Panorama Shot and up to 40 Continuous Shots (Burst) and a 3.2 -megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby.

It has a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) similar to the Galaxy S4, but this one is powered by a  2.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor instead of Snapdragon 600 in the LTE version of the Galaxy S4. Other features are the same including a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, Full HD video recording, 2-megapixel front-facing camera and 2600 mAh battery. It has a 21.5-inch full HD capacitive touch screen reclining IPS touchscreen with wide viewing angles and powered by a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. You can adjust the screen between 15 and 70 degrees with your hand and can also mount the AiO using a standard VESA mount. It has DTS Sound for immersive audio experience and comes pre-loaded with Kingsoft Office for editing office files. Age of Empires to land on iOS and Android in 2013, more first party games later

In a landmark change to the mobile gaming scenario, Microsoft has decided to bring some of its hugely popular first party titles to iOS and Android beginning with the Age of Empires in 2013. This is facilitated thanks to a license agreement by Microsoft with Klab, a mobile game developer in Japan which plans to port Age of Empires within this year to iOS and Android.
