Motorola has announced Motorola DEFY MINI dustproof and water-resistant phone powered by Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has 3.2-inch touchscreen Corning GorillaGlass display, 600MHz processor, 3MP rear-facing camera with flash, VGA front-facing camera for video chat. It also comes with Motorola’s MotoSwitch user interface that learns who you talk to and which apps you use and keeps all of that information. White Samsung Galaxy Nexus coming to UK in February
A couple of UK retailers just informed us that the white version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus which is currently the world’s only phone to run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich will be available next month in the UK. MobileFun is hinting at a release date of February 2nd and will sell the white device for 519 GBP including VAT.Clove is indicating a release date of 6th February and will sell the device for 498 GBP including VAT.We really like the black version of the device and the white looks equally attractive. Anyone interested in the white version of the Galaxy Nexus ? Specs wise , it should be identical to the black version.

Sony Ericsson launches barometric sensor app for Xperia active
Sony Ericsson has launched a barometric sensor app for the Xperia active and also a new code example so that developers can access this sensor in apps by accessing it through the Android sensor API. This app would let the Xperia Active users measure altitude differences and vertical speed. They already provided instructions and codes on how to create a simple app that could read data from the pressure sensor. 0.6% of all Android devices are on Ice Cream Sandwich
Android 4.0 was launched and announced in October and the first device to feature it was Google’s own Galaxy Nexus, and in December Nexus S got an upgrade to Android 4.0. Besides these two devices there are some other devices from other manufacturers running Ice Cream Sandwich unofficially through custom ROMs, through Google’s monthly report we have come to know that 0.6% of all the devices are running Android 4.0 which actually means that around 13 million to 15 million devices are running Andriod 4.0.

Now face unlock with Android 4.0 in your Nexus S
Nexus S received the Android 4.0 update a few weeks back though not all the features of ICS were available in the Nexus S update and one of the feature was Face unlock and the the main reason behind that was the VGA front camera. Many of the Nexus S users were really upset about the decision taken by Google, but the developer community is always there to look out for all the consumers and now this time they have taken the official update and have embedded face unlock into it.

Asus Transformer Prime ICS update to roll out starting January 12, Bootloader unlock tool to follow
Asus has officially announced on their Facebook Page that the Asus Transformer Prime would receive the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update Over the Air (OTA) start January 12th 2012 worldwide. They are also developing an unlock tool for the modding community who would like to have the bootloader unlocked. The warranty of the device will be void once the bootloader is unlocked and Google video rental and other DRM service would also be unavailable. It is powered by 1GHz single core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is just 9.9 mm thick with metal body and comes with a 3MP camera with secondary camera and 4GB internal memory with expandable memory up to 32GB.
