Android Oreo (Go Edition) is Google’s trim down version of Android for low-cost phones with 512MB to 1GB RAM. The company announced the project back in May and said that it would be available from early 2018. The company is all set to launch the first phone in India in partnership with Micromax later this month, according to a new report. Lenovo K320t with 5.7-inch full-screen display, Dual rear cameras announced

Lenovo has silently introduced K320t, the company’s latest budget smartphone and its first smartphone with full-screen 18:9 display and dual rear cameras in China. It was certified by TENAA last month, packs  a 5.7-inch HD+ screen with 81.4% screen-to-body ratio and comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera to capture the depth information. OnePlus 5 gets Face Unlock with latest open beta update

Last week OnePlus rolled out the OxygenOS 5.0 Android 8.0 Oreo stable update for the OnePlus 5 smartphone, and as promised the company has rolled out Face Unlock feature with the latest Open Beta 3 update for the smartphone, soon after the second beta that rolled out a couple of weeks back. OnePlus Switch backup tool launched

OnePlus has released new ‘Switch’ app that lets you quickly migrate from your old phone to a new OnePlus device. The app was announced at the OnePlus 5T launch and is compatible with Android phones running Lollipop (5.0) or higher and it can transfer contacts, SMS messages, call logs, calendars, photos, videos, audio, and apps. Xiaomi Mi A1 Android 8.0 Oreo stable update starts rolling out

Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 Android One smartphone in India back in September running stock Android 7.1 (Nougat) in partnership with Google. After beta testing the update earlier this month, Xiaomi has started rolling out stable update for all the users today, just before the year ends, as it had promised at the launch. This will be one of the most affordable Android smartphones to get the Android Oreo update. Xiaomi already said that it will also be one of the first phones to get Android P. Nokia 2 to get Android 8.1 Oreo update directly, will include memory management features

HMD Global’s Chief product officer Juho Sarvikas‏ has confirmed that Nokia 2 will get Android 8.1 Oreo update directly skipping 8.0 update. He hasn’t given any time frame but said that most of the Android 8.1 features would be available, including the memory management improvements, which is needed since the phone has only 1GB of RAM. Xiaomi Mi A1 Android Oreo Beta adds fast charging, latest update brings January 2018 Android security patch

Xiaomi rolled out  Android 8.0 Oreo beta update for testers a couple of weeks back. There were reports that the update added support for fast charging. We were able to test the latest Beta ROM in our unit and can confirm that it indeed brings fast charging support for the phone. This works only when you use a fast charger and not with the bundled charger that has output of only 5V-2A.

Nokia 1 Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone said to arrive in March 2018

HMD Global launched the entry-level Nokia 2 smartphone recently with a 4000mAh battery, but it chose to go with the Snapdragon 212 SoC and 1GB of RAM that doesn’t offer the best performance.  Now Eldar Murtazin of Mobile-Review who was once popular for Nokia leaks says that Nokia is planning to introduce Nokia 1, another entry-level Android smartphone next year, but this time it is rumored to partner with Google for the Android Oreo (Go edition) that will be based on Android 8.1 (Oreo).
