Earlier today we reported that the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, now the company has official launched the smartphone in India at a price tag of Rs. 36,990 (MRP). The Z1 Compact has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens, 1080p video recording and a 2.2-megapixel HD front-facing camera. Acer has announced the Liquid E3, successor of last year’s Liquid E2 ahead of MWC 2014. Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 3 Neo in India at a price tag of Rs. 40,900, at the Samsung Forum Asia 2014 in Bali couple of days back. It went on pre-order on the same day at the launch price, but Samsung has suddenly reduced the price of the device, that is available for pre-order at Rs.  38,990 on the official eStore. It has a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core or a Hexa-Core processor (1.7 GHz Dual Core Cortex A15+ 1.3 GHz Quad Core Cortex A7) and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Sony Xperia Z1 Compact, a smaller variant of the Xperia Z1 is now available in India from online retailer Infibeam. It has a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens with a 27mm wide angle f/2.0 aperture custom 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing engine, 1080p video recording and a 2.2-megapixel HD front-facing camera, similar to the Xperia Z1. Gionee has just announced the Elife S5.5, the company’s thinnest smartphone at an event in China. It is said to be the world’s thinnest phone that has 5.5mm thin magnesium alloy frame. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED touch screen display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display module is just 0.55mm thick and the back cover is 0.40mm thick, that is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, making the phone very slim. It It is powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and runs on Android 4.2 with Amigo 2.0 UI on top. LG has finally made the G2 Mini official ahead of Mobile World Congress 2014. It has a 4.7-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor (Snapdragon 400 or Nvidia Tegra 4i options), and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 3 in 3 new accents – Rose Gold White, Rose Gold Black and Merlot Red back in December. At the Samsung Asia Forum 2014 in Bali, we got to check out the Rose Gold Black Edition of the Note 3. Samsung confirms Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for 14 Galaxy devices for US

Samsung has finally announced the list of devices that would receive the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update, but this list is only for the U.S. variants. Samsung started rolling out the KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 last month. The Indian Exynos variant of the Note 3 got the KitKat update by the end of January. LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition Review

LG was responsible for the Nexus 4 and more recently the Nexus 5, and their association with Google continues with the LG G Pad 8.3. The G Pad was originally launched as a premium 8 inch tablet from LG, fully packed with special features added through software but the one we have here is the first tablet to be blessed by Google with a Play Edition, meaning the device will run stock Android without any modifications. Google and OEMs have been pushing out Play Edition devices since last year, for people who want Android, pure. With no bloatware and the latest version of Android, the GPE of the GPad is, in many ways, the Nexus 8 that was never announced. Priced at $349, should one prefer this over the Nexus 7 2013?
