Vodafone today announced that its 8.4 million plus M-Pesa customers can withdraw cash using their digital wallet from any of the over 120,000 Vodafone M-Pesa outlets across the country, subject to availability. To avail the cash withdrawal facility, customers need to carry an identity proof to their nearest Vodafone M-Pesa outlet from where they can withdraw money, subject to availability, in line with RBI guidelines. Airtel has launched 4G LTE services in Jharkhand starting with Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Godda, Lohardaga, Pakur, Jamtara, Giridih and Barhi. 4G will be offered using dual spectrum bands of 1800 MHz (FD LTE) and 2300 MHz (TD LTE) and is available through mobile phones, 4G hotspots and dongles in these towns. Airtel Payments Bank, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel today rolled out a pilot of its banking services in Rajasthan across 10,000 Airtel retail outlets, ahead of a full scale pan Indian launch. Customers in towns and villages across Rajasthan will now be able to open bank accounts at Airtel retail outlets, which will also act as Airtel banking points and offer a range of basic, convenient banking services such as cash deposit & withdrawal facilities. Airtel said that this is the first payments bank in the country to go live.

After Tamil Nadu, Vodafone has started offering 4G-ready SIM cards to its existing customers in Punjab (including Chennai) through Vodafone stores, Vodafone Mini Stores and close to 6,000 multi brand outlets, ahead of 4G roll out in the circle. Initially the 4G services will be launched in select towns of Punjab, said the company. It will be based on 1800 MHz band, similar to most other circles. Last month Reliance Jio announced that it had signed record 16 million new subscribers in 26 days of its commercial operations, which must have increased by several folds now. The company already said that it is aiming to reach 100 million subscribers by the year end, before the Jio Welcome offer ends. Even though Jio SIM cards are now widely available in several cities, now it has started a new pilot program to deliver SIM cards to your doorstep, as rumored earlier.
