Airtel Payments Bank offers one minute of talk time for every Rupee deposited for the first time

Airtel Payments Bank, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel last week rolled out a pilot of its banking services in Rajasthan across 10,000 Airtel retail outlets, ahead of a full scale pan Indian launch. It already announced that it offers interest rate of 7.25% p.a. on savings accounts deposits, the highest in India. Today it announced that it will be offering one minute of talk time for every Rupee deposited, however this benefit is applicable on first time deposits only. This can be used to make Airtel to Airtel calls all over India and has a validity of 30 days. Reliance Jio reportedly signs record 50 million subscribers in 83 days of launch

Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has signed record 50 million subscribers in 83 days of its commercial operations, according to sources. The company has added 1,000 customers per minute and 6 lakh per day. Last month the company officially announced that it added record 16 million new subscribers in 26 days of launch. Vodafone M-Pesa customers can now withdraw cash from over 120,000 outlets

Vodafone today announced that its 8.4 million plus M-Pesa customers can withdraw cash using their digital wallet from any of the over 120,000 Vodafone M-Pesa outlets across the country, subject to availability. To avail the cash withdrawal facility, customers need to carry an identity proof to their nearest Vodafone M-Pesa outlet from where they can withdraw money, subject to availability, in line with RBI guidelines. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Jharkhand

Airtel has launched 4G LTE services in Jharkhand starting with Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Godda, Lohardaga, Pakur, Jamtara, Giridih and Barhi. 4G will be offered using dual spectrum bands of 1800 MHz (FD LTE) and 2300 MHz (TD LTE) and is available through mobile phones, 4G hotspots and dongles in these towns. Airtel launches India’s first Payments Bank, pilot begins in Rajasthan

Airtel Payments Bank, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel today rolled out a pilot of its banking services in Rajasthan across 10,000 Airtel retail outlets, ahead of a full scale pan Indian launch. Customers in towns and villages across Rajasthan will now be able to open bank accounts at Airtel retail outlets, which will also act as Airtel banking points and offer a range of basic, convenient banking services such as cash deposit & withdrawal facilities. Airtel said that this is the first payments bank in the country to go live.

After Tamil Nadu, Vodafone has started offering 4G-ready SIM cards to its existing customers in Punjab (including Chennai) through Vodafone stores, Vodafone Mini Stores and close to 6,000 multi brand outlets, ahead of 4G roll out in the circle. Initially the 4G services will be launched in select towns of Punjab, said the company. It will be based on 1800 MHz band, similar to most other circles. Vodafone has started offering 4G-ready SIM cards to its existing customers in Tamil Nadu (including Chennai) through Vodafone stores, Vodafone Mini Stores and close to 10,000 multi brand outlets, ahead of 4G roll out in the circle. Initially the 4G services will be launched in select towns of Tamil Nadu, said the company. It will be based on 2100 MHz band 1, making the company first in the country to use the band that it had acquired recently.
