Vi, one of India’s largest telecom providers, has launched a new Managed SIP (MSIP) service for businesses in India. The service is designed for businesses where voice is a key business resource, such as BPOs/KPOs, the BFSI and IT/ITES, telemarketers, VAS providers, and more.
After receiving approval from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to begin 5G trials in India last month, Airtel has begun rolling out their mid-band 5G trial network in Gurgaon’s Cyber Hub. The test is being conducted on the 3500 MHz band and is utilizing 5G networking gear from Ericsson.

After Tamil Nadu, Airtel today announced that it has also upgraded its mobile network in Karnataka by deploying an additional 11.2 Mhz spectrum in the 1800 Mhz band along with advance network software tools across its network in Karnataka to significantly bolster high speed data capacity. This will enable improved network availability and data speeds along with better coverage inside homes and buildings in cities and urban areas, said the company. Airtel, one of India’s largest cellular network companies, has announced an upgrade to its Tamil Nadu network with the addition of 5MHz in the 1800 MHz band. This brings Airtel’s total spectrum bank in Tamil Nadu to 65MHz, which is one of the largest among cellular network carriers in the state.
Airtel has benefits worth Rs 270 crore to help 55 million low income customers to help them stay connected during the ongoing pandemic. As a part of this the company will offer free pack to these customers and others get double the benefits on recharge of Rs. 79 pack. Verizon today announced that it has signed an agreement with Apollo Funds to sell Verizon Media that comprises iconic brands such as Yahoo and AOL, as well as leading ad tech and media platform businesses for $5 billion. The Department of Telecom (DoT) has announced the winners in the 2021 spectrum auction in various circles that ended after 2 days. At the end of the auction government got bids worth Rs. 77,814.80 core with Rs. 77,146 raised on the first day after four rounds and Rs 668.20 crore raised in the two rounds on the second day. This substantially exceeded pre-bid estimates of Rs. 45,000 crore. Bharti Airtel Ltd, Vodafone Idea, and Reliance Jio took part in the auction.
