Like Aircel , Airtel India has also announced on it’s Facebook page about it’s plans to launch the Apple iPhone 4S in India soon. As of now only Airtel and Aircel are the official operators authorized by Apple to sell the iPhone 4 in India. So this news is not very surprising. But then for those of you who have been waiting for the iPhone 4S to launch in India, good news ! We are not sure if Apple will get the pricing right though !
Aircel India just announced on it’s official Facebook page earlier today that it is bringing the Apple iPhone 4S to India soon. The company would be sharing more details about the launch soon. There are no details about the pricing or the plans but expect it to be similar to the iPhone 4 Pricing with a slight premium. The detailed specs of Samsung Illusion has leaked out from the Verizon Infocenter and the guys from the androidcentral has got hold of the specs page. This is expected to be entry-level handset that looks like Nexus S with the capacitive touch buttons, rounded edges and a textured back, but comes with a SD card slot and Samsung TouchWiz UI. If you are one amongst consumers who had purchased the iPhone 4S from outside India and were facing issues getting it to work here , good news for you. Many users including me were seeing no signal bars on the iPhone 4S in India. Calls and SMS were not working.Surprisingly 3G data was working fine on most operators including Airtel , Vodafone and BSNL. I had tried using some international SIM cards such as AT&T, T-Mobile , O2 UK, 3 UK, SmarTone (HK). Tata Tele Services the company behind the Tata Indicom CDMA service and that Tata Docomo GSM service announced today it is getting rid of the Tata Indicom brand and merging it with the Tata Docomo brand. All Tata Indicom customers will be migrated to Tata DOCOMO. The company announced the Photon Max service which is based on Rev-B CDMA technology which promises higher speeds compared to the company’s Photon service.
