Aircel has tied up with Nimbuzz to launch a new data plan to promote the app ecosystem with an offer to provide free data for the Aircel subscribers in Jammu and Kashmir. This is aimed towards observing data-based communication behavioural pattern of the Jammu and Kashmir customers. The Aircel-Nimbuzz communication-based data plan doesn’t require you to recharge with any packs. Aircel recently launched free unlimited 3G data access for 3 hours every day with 30 days validity. Airtel launches 40 Mbps VDSL Broadband in Hyderabad


Airtel has launched 40 Mbps Broadband on VDSL (Very-high-speed digital subscriber line) technology in Hyderabad. Airtel currently offers broadband speeds up to 16Mbps on a DSL broadband in the city, and the new 40 Mbps on a VDSL broadband enables the customers enjoy high definition video streaming, online multiplayer gaming, and lots more easily. Airtel has introduced 2 plans, Ultrasonic 3999 and Ultrasonic 3299 that offers 200 GB data and 100 GB data, respectively.

Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab

Airtel has launched their 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab and Haryana, followed by Kolkata, Bengaluru and Pune. All the 4G plans remain the same, but Airtel has added a new plan called Break free Supreme that would offer 50GB of free data at Rs. 4,799. These plans are available for both the pre-paid and post-paid customers in Punjab.  There are also introductory cash back offers along with the new Break free Supreme plan for post-paid customers. Airtel can continue 3G Intra-circle roaming till final order, says Delhi HC

Delhi High Court has temporarily stalled the execution of the Department of Telecom’s (DoT) order asking Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles in 3 days, where they did not acquire the license, according to a recent report from Economic Times. Bharti Airtel challenged the DoT’s order in the Delhi Hight Court last week, and the court ordered them to pay Rs. 350 crore (Rs. 50 crore per circle) for violating licence norms. Airtel may stop 3G services in 7 circles by the end of this month

The Department of Telecom (DoT) may ask Bharti Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles in India, according to a recent report by Economic Times. DoT had already sent a notice to Airtel to stop their 3G services in these 7 circles including, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh (East), Kolkata, Gujarat, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. MTS wins 8 circles in 800 MHz CDMA spectrum auction, to stop services in 3 more circles

Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) that nationally operates its telecom services under the MTS brand has announced that that have won spectrum in the 800 MHz band in eight circles including Delhi, Kolkata, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh (West) & West Bengal. Airtel launches new roaming pack for prepaid customers in Delhi

Airtel has launched a new roaming pack for their prepaid mobile customers in Delhi that would let them enjoy free incoming calls while roaming in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal (except Kolkata). This pack costs Rs. 21, and offers free incoming calls for 30 days while roaming in any of these states. National roaming usually costs Re 1 per minute, this pack eliminates such charges, at least in these states when the pack is activated. Idea cellular has launched Zeal, their new Dual SIM Android smartphone with 3G support in affordable price range. It has 3.5 inch (320 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 ( Gingerbread) similar to the Idea Aurus that was launched last year. This phone is aimed at 3G data users in semi-urban and rural markets. It is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor and comes with Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support. Airtel to launch Voice services for 4G LTE customers in Pune


Airtel has announced that they would launch voice services for 4G TD-LTE customers in Pune soon, through its existing GSM network. Airtel is the only operator in India to combine voice with TD-LTE services through GSM network. Airtel launched their 4G LTE services in Pune last  October, followed by Kolkata and Bengaluru. Nokia Siemens Networks would deploy its Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) voice solution in the operator’s live TD-LTE network in Pune.
