Reliance Jio introduced the JioPhone 2, the successor of last year’s JioPhone last month. The company said that it will be available starting from August 15th. Today the company has confirmed that the smartphone will go on sale for the first time via flash sale on August 16th, 12PM on Jio.com.

Jio Payments Bank is a 70:30 JV between RIL and SBI, today Jio and SBI have signed MoU to deepen digital partnership, in aim to increase SBI’s digital customer base multi-fold. SBI YONO is a omni channel platform offering digital banking, commerce and financial superstore services to customers. YONO’s digital banking features and solutions will be enabled through the MyJio platform for a seamless, integrated and superior customer experience. MyJio will now bring in financial services capabilities of SBI and Jio Payments Bank.

Reliance Jio today reported Rs. ₹8,109 crore revenue, up 13.8 % QoQ and a net profit of 612 crore, up 19.9% QoQ for its fourth quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 30th June, 2018. Earlier this month at the annual AGM Reliance Jio chairman introduced JioPhone offer dubbed as “Monsoon Hungama” that allows feature phone users exchange their phone for a new JioPhone at an effective price of Rs. 501 instead of paying the full amount of Rs. 1500. Today the company has announced more details about the offer and also introduced a special plan for these users.
JioPhone got Facebook app back in February this year, last week at the AGM the company has confirmed that YouTube, WhatsApp and an improved Facebook app are coming to JioPhone from 15th August. Today the company has pushed a new software update that brings Google Maps to the feature phone.

Reliance Jio at the annual AGM today introduced the JioPhone 2, the successor of last year’s JioPhone. It has a new design that includes a full QWERTY hardware keyboard along with a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, and it also comes with Dual SIM support, unlike the first generation model that only comes with single SIM. It has cat.4 LTE support with download speeds of up to 150Mbps with support both LTE (Band 3,5,40) and 2G (900/1800).
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries at the company’s 41st annual AGM announced that Reliance Jio has crossed 215 million customers in 22 months of launch, compared to 125 million in July last year. Earlier this year when announcing the financial results, the company said that it had over 186 million customers.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited today has announced that it has signed a US$ 1 billion equivalent term loan facility covered by Korea Trade Insurance Corporation; K-Sure on 22nd June 2018. The company says that it will use the facility to finance goods and services procured primarily from Samsung Electronics and Ace Technologies Corp. The Facility has door to door tenor of 10.75 years.
