Reliance Jio today reported Rs. 7,128 crore revenue, up 3.6 % QoQ and a net profit of 510.44 crore, up 1.2% QoQ for its third quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 31st March, 2018. Apple today announced that it will launch the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) on May 11th in India, months after it launched the Apple Watch Series 3 standard version. Airtel said that it will start pre-registrations for the new Apple Watch on May 4, 2018 on Airtel website. It will also be available from Reliance Jio, and the pre-orders begins on jio.com starting May 4. It will also be available on Reliance Digital and Jio Stores starting May 11. Reliance Jio is said to be in talks with the chip maker Qualcomm to bring laptops running Windows 10 and built-in cellular connection for the Indian market. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today announced that it has signed an agreement to for combination of Saavn with JioMusic. The combined entity is valued at over US$1 billion, with JioMusic’s implied valuation at US$ 670 million. “The integrated business will be developed into a media platform of the future with global reach, cross-border original content, an independent artist marketplace, consolidated data and one of the largest mobile advertising mediums,” said RIL. Reliance Jio introduced the JioFi 3 back in 2016, which we unboxed in early 2017. Last year the company seems to have silently introduced JioFi 4 (JMR1140) and JioFi 5 (JMR814). Now the company has started selling JioFi JMR815, which should be JioFi 6. This measures 74 x 74 x 20mm and weighs just 95g with a 3000mAh, which is bigger than the previous JioFi models. Samsung launched the Galaxy S9+ in India last week and the phone went on sale in the country from today. As it had announced at the launch event, the 256GB version of the S9+ is exclusively Reliance Digital stores and Jio Stores in addition to Samsung exclusive stores and Samsung Shop. It also said that those who do a cumulative recharge of minimum Rs. 2500 within 12 months from any of the available Jio plans, they would be eligible for 70% of the MRP as buyback amount on return of the device after a year when the S9+ 256GB version is purchased at Reliance Digital Stores, Jio Stores or Jio.com.
