Airtel has introduced world’s first free intercontinental incoming roaming service that would let the Airtel customers in Africa enjoy free incoming calls while roaming in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. This would be available for Airtel customers in 17 countries across Africa. Airtel introduced local outgoing calls for Indian customers at Re.1/min while roaming in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh earlier this year. Airtel iPhone 5 Plans
The iPhone 5 is launching in India today. Airtel has announced their iPhone 5 plans for both the pre-paid and post-paid customers in India. The pricing for the iPhone 5 in India and the launch date was revealed last week. The iPhone 5 is priced at Rs.45,500 for the 16GB, Rs.52,500 for the 32GB and Rs. 59,500 for the 64GB version. Airtel has launched Network Experience Centre (NEC), first of its kind facility in India. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Shri Kapil Sibal and is based in Manesar (Gurgaon). It would let Airtel monitor their networks spanning across Mobile, DSL Broadband, M-Commerce, DTH, Enterprise Services and International Cables across its India and South Asia from a single location. Airtel starts taking Pre-Orders for iPhone 5 in India, priced at Rs.45500 for 16GB
Airtel which is one of the leading mobile operators in India has started taking Pre-Orders for the Apple iPhone 5 on its website. Airtel is promoting the iPhone 5 on its homepage and has requested interested customers to pre-order the device. The date of availability is mentioned as November 11th 2012 which is a good 10 days later than the previous November 2nd date we have been hearing from distributors.The prices seem to be exactly the same as what we had heard prior to this.

Airtel has launched their 4G LTE services in Pune, followed by Kolkata and Bengaluru. Airtel has also reduced the price of the LTE CPE and dongles, the Indoor CPE with Wi-Fi and the 4G Multi Mode Dongle, that are now available for Rs. 4999 each. Airtel has also announced the availability and free trial offer of Airtel Broadband TV and Games On-Demand for their 4G LTE customers. They have introduced cash back offers for post-paid customers. Huawei Ascend P1 LTE launched in India on Airtel
Huawei has launched the Ascend P1 LTE, the first LTE smartphone in India, in partnership with Airtel at the Innovation Qualcomm India 2012 event. It would run on Airtel’s LTE-TDD network that was first launched in Kolkatta earlier this April. The Huawei Ascend P1 LTE has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla glass protection and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor with Adreno 225 GPU. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and has a 8 megapixel auto focus camera with dual LED flash and 1.3MP front-facing camera for video calling.
