Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab

Airtel has launched their 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab and Haryana, followed by KolkataBengaluru and Pune. All the 4G plans remain the same, but Airtel has added a new plan called Break free Supreme that would offer 50GB of free data at Rs. 4,799. These plans are available for both the pre-paid and post-paid customers in Punjab.  There are also introductory cash back offers along with the new Break free Supreme plan for post-paid customers. Airtel can continue 3G Intra-circle roaming till final order, says Delhi HC

Delhi High Court has temporarily stalled the execution of the Department of Telecom’s (DoT) order asking Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles in 3 days, where they did not acquire the license, according to a recent report from Economic Times. Bharti Airtel challenged the DoT’s order in the Delhi Hight Court last week, and the court ordered them to pay Rs. 350 crore (Rs. 50 crore per circle) for violating licence norms. Airtel may stop 3G services in 7 circles by the end of this month

The Department of Telecom (DoT) may ask Bharti Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles in India, according to a recent report by Economic Times. DoT had already sent a notice to Airtel to stop their 3G services in these 7 circles including, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh (East), Kolkata, Gujarat, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh. Airtel launches new roaming pack for prepaid customers in Delhi

Airtel has launched a new roaming pack for their prepaid mobile customers in Delhi that would let them enjoy free incoming calls while roaming in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal (except Kolkata). This pack costs Rs. 21, and offers free incoming calls for 30 days while roaming in any of these states. National roaming usually costs Re 1 per minute, this pack eliminates such charges, at least in these states when the pack is activated. Airtel to launch Voice services for 4G LTE customers in Pune


Airtel has announced that they would launch voice services for 4G TD-LTE customers in Pune soon, through its existing GSM network. Airtel is the only operator in India to combine voice with TD-LTE services through GSM network. Airtel launched their 4G LTE services in Pune last  October, followed by Kolkata and Bengaluru. Nokia Siemens Networks would deploy its Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) voice solution in the operator’s live TD-LTE network in Pune. Airtel launches mobile services in Kargil


Airtel has launched mobile services for its customers in Kargil district in Jammu & Kashmir that would offer seamless voice and data connectivity. Airtel has also announced that they are the only private operator to offer mobile connectivity in the region. This would let the native customers and tourists in the region keep in touch with their friends and family in other parts on India even during severe winter. Airtel launches Apna Chaupal IVR-based VAS portal aimed at rural customers


Airtel has launched Apna Chaupal, a new IVR-based Value Added Service (VAS) management solution aimed at customers in rural and semi-urban market. It is first-of-its kind voice based one stop solution portal for value added services. The new service would let Airtel mobile customers easily browse and subscribe from range of value added services with just a simple voice call. Nokia, Airtel top trusted brands in India yet again


Nokia is still India’s Most Trusted Brand, according to a recent survey conducted by research firm Trust Research Advisory (TRA). Nokia retains the first position from the Brand Trust Report 2011 and the Brand Trust Report 2012. Even Airtel retains the same No. 9 spot in the rank list for 3rd consecutive year. The Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2013 is the third in its series and this year the report lists India’s 1100 Most Trusted Brands from 211 categories. It comprises comprehensive primary research based on 61 attributes called the Brand Trust Matrix, conducted among 2505 influencer-respondents from 16 cities across the country. Nokia and Airtel launch co-branded version of Nokia Xpress Browser


Bharti Airtel and Nokia has launched a customized version of Nokia Xpress Browser for the Airtel customers with Nokia Asha and select Series 40 devices.  The Nokia Xpress browser usually comes pre-loaded on Asha phones, but the new co-branded version would offer the Airtel subscribers and enhanced experience, by providing them with one-click access to Airtel’s premium mobile internet services and easy discoverability of rich content on-the-go. Airtel offers free Facebook access for prepaid customers for 1 month


Airtel has launched Free Facebook on Airtel offer for their pre-paid customers that would let them access Facebook for free till 15th February 2013 without any extra packs. This would let the customers enjoy Facebook mobile application access with up to 500MB of free monthly usage. Airtel had offered free access on Facebook app for Java phones and free Mobile Twitter access for a period of 3 months, few years back. Airtel launches WiFi hangout – a prepaid hotspot service in select cities

India’s leading mobile and broadband provider Airtel has now sought after a new way to provide its broadband internet as a service. While the notion of a paid WiFi hotspot is nothing new in India, there has not been a wide commercial push that has widened its reach, and Airtel may fix just that, with its new “WiFi Hangout” service, a prepaid WiFi hotspot, initially launched in three cities/regions namely Mumbai, NCR and Bangalore.
