Airtel has launched 3G services in Punjab. It rolled out 4G services in Chandigarh – Tricity last year and in Ludhiana in Punjab last week. It offers 2G, 3G and 4G services in these two areas in Punjab and it also offers 4G on mobile in Ludhiana. The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) today cleared the 3G intra-circle roaming agreements signed between Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular by saying that the 3G intra-circle-roaming (ICR) does not violate the Unified Access Service Licence (UASL) license, reports ET. It has also quashed all penalties imposed by the Department of Telecom (DoT) on these operators last year.

Airtel has launched Night Store, new night packs that would let pre-paid users enjoy unlimited on-net (Airtel to Airtel) voice calls and 2G data. It also offers limited 3G data with select packs in 3G circles and free Facebook access. These packs are applicable between 12AM to 6AM and is valid for one night. SingTel Group has announced that they have partnered with Samsung aimed at driving next-generation mobile communication, infotainment and technology services. These SingTel Group of companies include, SingTel in Singapore, Optus in Australia, AIS in Thailand, Airtel in India and Africa, Globe Telecom in the Philippines and Telkomsel in Indonesia. Initiatives under this partnership include a retail collaboration programme, direct carrier billing, regional mobile app development challenge and direct access to selected apps.

LG Electronics has partnered with Airtel and Qualcomm to set up LTE experience zone in Bangalore for customers to experience 4G LTE. Airtel introduced 4G on mobile first on iPhone 5c and 5s for customers in Bangalore last month. LG launched the 4G LTE variant of the L2 G2 in India earlier this month starting at Rs. 46,000.
