Opera has announced that they have partnered with 7 Indian OEMs including Micromax, Videocon, Spice, MoMagic Technologies, Wynncom, Lemon Mobiles and iBall to pre-install the Opera mini browser on their Android devices. Opera has also added 2 more OEMs, Symphony Mobile in Bangladesh and Colors Mobile in Nepal in South Asia region. Opera partnered with 7 Indian OEMs Celkon, Karbonn, Lava. Panasonic P11 with 5-inch HD display and T11 with 4-inch display now available for Rs. 16364 and Rs. 9520

Panasonic P11 and T11, two new Android smartphones appeared on Flipkart back in July, but those appeared suddenly. Now these phones are available from online retailer Snapdeal. The Panasonic P11 has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and the Panasonic T11 in the new T Series comes with a 4-inch WVGA  (480×800 pixels) display. Both these phones are powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Xolo Q1000S Review

Xolo had launched several smartphones in the Q CORE series, the Q1000S is the company’s latest smartphone in the series. It is also the successor of the Q1000 that was launched back in May. The Q1000S that was launched at the end of August at a price tag of Rs. 18,999 has the same 5-inch display, but this has an upgraded 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6489 Turbo processor, a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Micromax has launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series. It has a 8-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) multi-touch display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has 3G support via a SIM card slot and has voice calling capabilities.

It comes pre-loaded with Opera mini browser,  Spuul to watch free movies online, Music Hub to get access to songs online and M! Live  to download HD/premium games. The M! Security app lets you Back-Up the phone Tracke the tab remotely and Anti-Virus features. It also comes with Look away to pause, Video pinning, pop-up browser and OTA update support similar to the latest Canvas smartphones. This tab would compete with the recently launched Xolo Tab.

Sony DSC QX10 and DSC QX100 Camera Lenses launched in India for Rs. 12990 and Rs. 24990

Sony announced two new camera lenses for the smartphones, Cyber-shot DSC QX10 and DSC QX100 at the IFA 2013 earlier this month. Sony has officially launched these lenses in India today. These connect to Android devices and the iPhone via Wi-Fi and uses the Sony’s PlayMemories Mobile application to capture images.  The DSC-QX10 has 18.2 effective megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor with Sony G Lens and has 10x optical zoom and the DSC-QX100 has 20.2 effective megapixels Exmor R CMOS sensor with Sony G Lens and has 3.6x optical zoom. These have has Built-in Optical SteadyShot that combats camera shake and lets you captures blur-free videos even in low-light conditions. Sony SmartWatch 2 launched in India for Rs. 14990

Sony has launched the SmartWatch 2 (SW2), successor of the first SmartWatch in India. The SmartWatch 2 was announced at the Mobile Asia Expo back in June and comes with a 1.6-inch (220 x 176 pixels) Transflective LCD display and is made  of aluminium (body) with wristband made of silicon or stainless steel. It has Bluetooth 3.0 and NFC to connect to Android smartphones running on Android 4.0 (ICS) and later. It weighs 122.5 grams and has IP57 ratings for water resistance. Sony has finally launched the Xperia Z1, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in India as they promised. It was announced at the IFA earlier this month has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens with a 27mm wide angle f/2.0 aperture custom 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing engine, 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera.

Gionee Elife E5 Benchmarks

Gionee launched the Elife E5 in India back in July. We brought you the unboxing of the device last week. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek 6589T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU. Windows Phone retains the position as India’s second largest smartphone OS with 5.4% marketshare

It’s been almost an year since Windows Phone 8 launched, but the growth has seen a spike only recently, with the Nokia Lumia 520 becoming the most popular Windows Phone, not just in India, but the world. India has definitely been a tough market to crack for anything other than Android. Even with the huge marketing and retail push by Nokia, the most trusted brand in India for quite a number of years, Windows Phone is just at 5.4% of the whole Smartphone market. With iOS and BlackBerry contributed even lesser, Android rules the market with more than 84% marketshare at least.

Samsung Galaxy Gear launched in India for Rs. 22990

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Gear, the company’s first Smartwatch in India as we reported last week. It was announced earlier this month at the IFA 2013 and is a great companion to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that was also launched in India today.  It has a 1.63 inch (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display, powered by a 800 MHz processor  and packs a 315 mAh battery. Once you connect it with the smartphone, it gives quick previews of incoming texts, emails and more. If you want to read the whole message, you can simply pick up smartphone, and the Smart Relay feature will reveal the full message on the screen.
