Samsung introduced its 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor earlier last month. There were reports of the upcoming Galaxy A70S with the 64MP GW1 sensor to launch later this year. Today, new reports suggest that an upcoming Redmi smartphone will also sport the 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor and is expected to come in the second half of 2019.

With more than 300 million global users Xiaomi’s MIUI is amongst the most popular Android skins. MIUI Global ROM has different versions such as Stable and Beta to cater to different users. Xiaomi smartphones come preloaded with MIUI Global Stable ROM pre-installed, and these builds are claimed to be most stable and are recommended for day-to-day usage to normal users by the company. MIUI Global Beta ROM is designed keeping smartphone enthusiasts in mind who want to be amongst the first ones to experience new features, but Beta ROM is not as good as Stable ROM in terms of stability. At the Google I/O last month Google in partnership with Xiaomi announced Android Q Beta updates for the Mi MIX 3 5G and the Mi 9, later the company added the K20 Pro (China only) to the list. Today the company has confirmed its plans to roll out Android Q open beta update for Redmi K20, Mi 8 series, K20Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix 3 and more from Q4 2019 as well as Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro in Q1 2020.
Xiaomi started crowdfunding for Mi LED Smart Bulb in India in April and started shipping it for the backers last month, now the company has launched it in India. It is a 10W bulb with 800 Lumens of brightness, comes with support for Amazon Alexa as well as Google Assistant, and doesn’t require a separate bridge like Philips Hue. Along with the Mi 9T and Mi Band 4, Xiaomi also introduced the Mi True Wireless Earphones and Mi Electric Scooter Pro in Spain, after these were introduced in China recently. The Mi True Wireless Earphones offer up to 10 hours of music playback with the case, auto-connects to the paired device when you open the case, has intuitive touch controls that lets you tap or double tap to play/pause music, answer/end calls or activate voice assistants. Xiaomi just announced Mi 9T, a version of the Redmi K20 for Europe. As we already know, the phone packs a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 91.9% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 730 with 6GB of RAM, runs Android Pie with MIUI 10 and in-display fingerprint scanner. It has a 48-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX582 sensor, 8-megapixel telephoto lens and a 13-megapixel 124.8° ultra-wide sensor. It also has a 20-megapixel pop-up front camera.
Along with the Mi Band 4, Xiaomi’s MIJIA or Mi Ecosystem brand also introduced several products including the Mi AI Translator yesterday. It comes pre-installed with Oxford and Collins dictionary, as well as three Chinese dictionaries to translate words and learn correct English pronunciation and supports offline translation for Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and German.
Xiaomi’s Mi Ecosystem brand MIJIA just announced the most expected Mi Band 4 at an event in China, as it had promised. It has a 0.95-inch AMOLED color touch screen display, which is 39.9% bigger than the predecessor so that it can display more characters and is protected by 2.5D scratch-resistant glass. It has 77 different watch faces. The band is also 5ATM water resistant so that you can take it for swimming under 50 meters. Today the company has announced that it starts offering ‘Guaranteed Next-Day delivery’ in over 150 cities in India for Rs. 49.
Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched theRedmi Y3 smartphone in India in April, and the phone went on sale for the first time starting April 30th through Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting at Rs. 9999. It was sold every Tuesdays after that, now the phone is available through open sale after one month of launch. The Redmi 7 went on open sale last month, and the Redmi Note 7S went on open sale last week.
Xiaomi launched the 10000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i in India back in 2017. Last year it launched the Red Edition of the power bank, and today it has launched the Blue Edition in the country for the Cricket World Cup 2019 that’s happening in England. After Xiaomi patent for a smartphone with under the display camera surfaced last week, Xiaomi has officially shared a video that shows a smartphone with an under the screen selfie camera. Xiaomi co-founder Bin on weibo shared that the video was shot last month using Mi 9 prototype with full-screen camera technology without any notch. Xiaomi launched its first dual-camera phone Redmi Note 5 Pro in India last year running MIUI 9.2 on top of Android 7.1 (Nougat) and later updated it to MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) back in June 2018. MIUI 9.5 also brought some new features such as full-screen gesture support, Dual 4G VoLTE and more to Redmi Note 5 Pro. Later in September 2018, the company rolled out MIUI 10 update for the smartphone, followed by Android 9.0 (Pie) based MIUI 10 Global Beta update in March 2019.
