Samsung introduces 128GB 3-bit eMMC 5.0 flash memory for mid-range smartphones

Samsung has introduced 128 gigabyte (GB), 3-bit NAND-based flashed storage based on Embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC) 5.0 technology targeted at mid-market smartphones and tablets. The company has already introduced 128GB flash memory based on Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 2.0 and eMMC 5.1 standards for top-end and premium smartphones.  Mid-market smartphones will now be able to increase their storage capacity to 128GB as well with the new , says the company. Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge UK pre-orders begin March 20

Samsung has announced that both the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge smartphones would be available for pre-order in the UK from 20th March 2015, ahead of the on-sale date of 10th April 2015. It will be available for pre-order from high street retailers and operators including Vodafone, Carphone Warehouse, Three, EE and O2 that were confirmed already. Samsung Galaxy Tab A with 8-inch and 9.7-inch displays, Android 5.0, 4G LTE announced

Samsung has introduced Galaxy Tab A in Russia, after a month it was leaked. The Galaxy Tab A series comes in 8-inch and 9.7-inch displays with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels. Both these are powered by 1.2GHz quad-core (Snapdragon 410 probably) processors, runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop), come with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Samsung has started rolling out Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for the Galaxy Note Edge (SM-N915G) smartphone in India, according to Sammobile. The Galaxy Note Edge smartphone was launched in India running on Android 4.4 (KitKat) back in December last year. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 got the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in India last week. Samsung has launched the Galaxy Win 2 (SM-G360BT), successor of last year’s Galaxy Win in Brazil. It has a 4.5-inch WVGA display, slightly smaller than the first Galaxy Win smartphone, but this has a different quad-core processor adding 4G support and runs on Android KitKat. It has the same 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, but the front-facing camera has been upped to 2MP from VGA. Samsung has announced the Galaxy Xcover 3 rugged smartphone in the Xcover series official, after it leaked in live images earlier this year. It is water resistant to a depth of one meter for up to 30 minutes with IP67 certification, dust proof and even meets the US Military Standard MIL-STD 810G to withstand a fall of up to 1.2 meters. It has a 4.5-inch WVGA (480 × 800 pixels) display, is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), which is upgradable to Android 5.0 (Lollipop) in future.
