Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab S4, successor of last year’s Galaxy Tab S3, after it was introduced in August. It has a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED WQXGA screen, is powered by a Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 SoC and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo). It has quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by HARMAN, similar to the predecessor and comes with an an enhanced S Pen. It has got rid of the fingerprint scanner and the home button on the front for Iris scanner.
Samsung has announced that it will acquire Zhilabs, known for its Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based network and service analytics, to further enhance its 5G capabilities. This will boost 5G offerings of automation and network analytics to finely tune the customer experiences in the 5G era. The company last month commited KRW 25 trillion investment over the next three years to acquire companies to boost artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, automotive electronics components and biopharmaceuticals.

Samsung Electronics has announced two new automotive solution brands; Samsung Exynos Auto and Samsung ISOCELL Auto to bring application processor and image sensor technology solutions to the road. Based on the qualities of the Exynos mobile processors, Exynos Auto meets industry requirements for harsher environments, allowing automotive manufacturers to develop applications such as infotainment, advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) and telematics. This includes main 24-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 10-megapixel Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture for 2x optical zoom, 8-megapixel 120° Ultra Wide Lens for wide-angle photos and the fourth 5-megapixel camera to capture depth information for portrait shots. Update: @evleaks has shared more details about the four rear cameras on the Galaxy A9 Star Pro smartphone that will go official tomorrow. This coincides with earlier leak that revealed a 24MP f/1.7 aperture main sensor, 5MP depth-sensor for live focus with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP 120 ° wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 10MP Telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture for 2X optical zoom.
Samsung is working on Exynos 9820, successor of the Exynos 9810, which will likely debut with the Galaxy S10 next year. Samsung has posted its earnings guidance for the third quarter of 2018, which reveals that it will post an all time high 17.5 (17.4 ~ 17.6) trillion Korean won ($15.5 billion approx.) in operating profits for the quarter, 20% up from a year earlier.
