Update 16th April 2020: The price of Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has been announced in various markets. The WiFi variant costs 379 euros (US$ 411 / Rs. 31,507) and the LTE variant costs 439 euros (US$ 476 / Rs. 36,495 approx.), and will be available starting April 30th, 202o in markets like Germany, Belgium, Russia, France, Italy. Samsung demos 5G mmWave on multiple devices with peak speeds of 8.5Gbps

5G technology development is picking up pace across the world and the commercial 5G network is deployed by Verizon, T-Mobile, EE, etc. Several companies like HUAWEI, Samsung, Nokia are demonstrating massive 5G speeds and on similar lines now, Samsung has demonstrated 5G mmWave with peak speeds of 8.5Gbps on multiple devices.

Microsoft adds drag and drop file sharing support between Windows and Samsung smartphones

During its Galaxy S20 series launch event, Samsung had announced that they were partnering with Microsoft to provide deeper integration and services between products from the two companies. A few days ago, Microsoft released an update to the ‘Your Phone’ app for Samsung phones to enable drag and drop file transfer between a PC and the phone.

Samsung said to be working on custom Exynos SoC for Google; could be announced this year

Samsung’s in-house Exynos SoCs have been there for a while now, and the company is set to launch Exynos SoCs with AMD Graphics next year which could drastically improve the GPU performance. Lately, Exynos SoCs are being used on non-Samsung smartphones as well and on similar lines now, a new report suggests that Samsung is working on a custom chipset for Google which could be announced as soon as this year.

Samsung Galaxy A41 with 6.1-inch FHD+ AMOLED Infinity-U Display, 48MP triple rear cameras announced for global markets

Samsung announced Galaxy A41 in Japan for NTT Docomo last month, but that will no go on sale until June. Now it has introduced a new Galaxy A41 smartphone for the global markets. It packs a similar 6.1-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity screen with in-display fingerprint sensor, is powered by an Octa-Core processor (could be Snapdragon 675) with 4GB RAM, runs Android 10 with OneUI 2.0, and  features a 48-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens, 5-megapixel depth sensor and a 25-megapixel front camera, but the camera design is different. Samsung Galaxy A51 5G and Galaxy A71 5G with FHD+ AMOLED Infinity-O Display, Exynos 980, quad rear cameras, 32MP front camera announced

Samsung just announced the Galaxy A51 5G and Galaxy A71 5G smartphones. These pack a 6.5-inch and 6.7-inch FHD+ Infinity-O Super AMOLED infinity displays with 20:9 aspect ratio, respectively, and are powered by Exynos 980 SoC with built-in 5G support and 8GB RAM. The A51 5G has a 48MP main camera with the A71 5G come with a 64MP main camera, Both these have 12MP 123-degree ultra-wide + 5MP macro and 5MP depth sensors and a 32-megapixel front camera. Samsung Galaxy M10, M10s and M20 discontinued in India

Samsung launched its then online-only Galaxy M Series smartphones in January 2019 and has rapidly expanded the lineup, with the recent launch being the Galaxy M21. Now, 3 smartphones in the Galaxy M lineup – Galaxy M10, Galaxy M10s, and Galaxy M20 have been removed from Samsung India’s official website.

Samsung patents a four-sided curved display with border-less design

Smartphone manufacturers have come a long way in innovation, especially in terms of displays. Bezel-less screens have been there for a while and it is improving further, like the waterfall display on the Vivo NEX 3S 5G, OPPO’s implementation, and more. Now, Samsung has patented a waterfall display with a borderless design that could eventually be implemented in future smartphones.

Samsung estimates $5.2 billion profit for Q1 2020, up 2.7% YoY

The COVID-19 pandemic has apparently not slowed down Samsung’s growth by a large amount, with their current estimates even beating initial expectations. Samsung posted its earnings guidance for Q1 2020, being one of the first tech companies to do so, estimating approximately 55 trillion Korean won ($45.26 billion) in sales and 6.4 trillion Korean won ($5.26 billion) in operating profit.
