Samsung introduces 108MP 1/1.33-inch ISOCELL Bright HMX image sensor for smartphones in partnership with Xiaomi

Samsung just announced its 108MP (12032×9024 pixel resolution) ISOCELL Bright HMX 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel image sensor, the first mobile sensor to go beyond 100 million pixels and is also the first mobile image sensor to adopt a large 1/1.33-inch size. Samsung has launched the new Galaxy Tab A 8-inch (2019) (SM-T290 WiFi / SM-T295 LTE) models in India. It has a 8-inch WXGA screen, is powered by Snapdragon 429 SoC with 2GB of RAM, runs Android 9.0 (Pie), sports an 8MP rear camera with autofocus support and a 2MP front camera. It has dual speakers, has 3.5mm jack, micro USB port, and sports a 5100mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ price revealed in India as pre-orders begin

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ at an event in the US few hours back. Today the company has announced that it will be available for pre-order from Samsung Online ShopFlipkart, Amazon.in,Paytm and Tata CLiQ starting today till August 22nd and also revealed the price. It will be available from August 23rd, the same day as global consumers start getting their Note devices. Samsung Galaxy Book S with 13.3-inch FHD display, Snapdragon 8cx 7nm Compute Platform, 4G LTE announced

Along with the Galaxy Note10 series, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Book S, mobile computing device running Windows 10 and powered by Snapdragon 8cx compute platform with 4G LTE support. It has a 13.3-inch Full HD touch display, uniquely arched frame that flows when opened and closed, the portable, premium anodized aluminum frame on the top and base and ultra-slim body measuring just 6.2mm at its thinnest point and light-weight design at just 960 grams.

These pack a 6.3-inch FHD+ and 6.8-inch Quad HD+ Curved Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Displays, feature in-display Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner that reads the 3D contours of user’s physical thumbprint for improved anti-spoofing and a re-designed, uni-body Bluetooth Low Energy-enabled S Pen with Air actions customizable gesture controls,  handwriting-to-text conversion to MS Word, PDF and more, Screen off memo in 5 colors and more. The S Pan has built-in Lithium-titanate battery that lasts 10 hours with a single charge, yet weighs just 3.04 grams.

Samsung Exynos 9 Series 9825 SoC based on 7nm EUV process tech announced, to power Galaxy Note10 series

Samsung has announced its latest Exynos 9825 SoC in the Exynos 9 Series, successor of the Exynos 9820 that was introduced last year. This uses industry’s first 7nm EUV (extreme ultra violet) lithography processing technology for better power efficiency compared to 8nm LPP (Low Power Plus) FinFET process that is used in Exynos 9820 SoC. The company is yet to reveal how efficient it will be compared to the previous generation.

Redmi 64MP camera phone launching in India in Q4 2019; Xiaomi will be the first to use 108MP Samsung sensor

Xiaomi just announced that it be one of the first companies to launch a smartphone with a 64MP camera. The upcoming Redmi smart will use Samsung’s latest 1/7″ 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor that is 38% bigger than 48MP sensor that it uses in its latest smartphones and will offer 9248 x 6936 pixel resolution so that you can print a 3.26 meters (244cm x 326cm) huge poster.

Samsung to launch Exynos SoCs with AMD Radeon graphics in 2021

Recently, AMD and Samsung Electronics announced a multi-year strategic partnership which stated that Samsung will license AMD graphics IP to use it in its future SoCs. In similar lines, now Samsung has confirmed that it plans to launch SoCs with AMD Radeon graphics as early as 2021.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 with 10.5-inch WQXGA Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 855, dual rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner announced

Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab S6, successor of last year’s Galaxy Tab S4, as it had promised. It has a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED WQXGA screen, is powered by a Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 SoC and runs on Android 9.0 (Pie). It has quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by HARMAN, similar to the predecessor and has got rid of the Iris scanner in favor of in-display fingerprint scanner. The Galaxy  Tab S6 has an 8-megapixel primary camera along with a 5-megapixel 123-degree  Ultra Wide camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. It has a 5.7mm slim metal body.

Samsung’s Q2 2019 profits down 55.6% YoY, mobile profits down 41.5% YoY due to weak Galaxy S10 sales

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q2 2019 that ended June 30 2019, in which the company has made operating profit of 6.60 trillion won, down 55.6% YoY, as expected. This due to weakness and price declines in the memory chip market and inventory adjustments by major datacenter customers, similar to previous quarters, despite a limited recovery in demand, said Samsung. It reported revenue of 56.13 trillion won, down 4% YoY from 58.48 trillion won last year.
