Microsoft Store reduces commission for PC games from 30% down to 12%

In a blog post, the Head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Booty, has announced that the Microsoft Store will soon reduce their commission for in-store purchases to 12%. Microsoft is also working on upgrading the Store in the coming months with more features, and has promised to improve install reliability and download speeds.

Microsoft expands list of Xbox Series S and Series X games that support FPS Boost at up to 120Hz

When Microsoft announced the Xbox Series X and Series S console, one of the features that they highlighted was support for gaming at up to 120Hz. However, at launch, the list of games that actually supported up to 120Hz was very few. Now, through the FPS Boost feature, Microsoft has added support for 120Hz gaming on 13 Electronic Arts titles, which will be available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members via EA Play.

Microsoft bets big on healthcare; buys AI speech tech company Nuance for $19.7 Billion

In the latest development, Microsoft has announced the acquisition of Nuance Communications, in an all-cash transaction valued at $19.7 billion, inclusive of net debt. As a part of the deal, the Redmond tech giant will pay $56 per share for Nuance, a 23% premium over the closing price of Nuance on Friday, April 9. Microsoft Cortana app no longer available on Android and iOS

Cortana, the AI- based digital voice assistant from Microsoft, is no longer available on both Android and iOS. The company had earlier revealed plans in July, 2020 to remove the standalone Cortana app from these platforms, and along with it, they have also ended support for third-party Cortana skills.
