Microsoft Office apps get a design refresh; 64-bit Office for ARM devices announced

Microsoft announced its next version of the operating system Windows 11 last week and today, it has released the first build for Insider Preview users. Along with that, Microsoft has also announced its next version of Microsoft Office and a visual refresh of the same.

The new version of Microsoft Office comes with a native 64-bit ARM version and has been designed specifically for that. This offers better support for large documents, greater memory availability, and compatibility with existing 64-bit add-ins. Users who are using a Windows device running on an ARM processor and Windows 11 Insider Preview build can try the new version of Microsoft Office.

Furthermore, the next version of Microsoft Office has also got a design refresh and Microsoft has used Fluent Design principles across all Office apps. The design refresh aligns with the design of Windows 11 and now, by default, the Office theme matches the Windows theme. The Quick Access Toolbar is now hidden under the ribbon and is displayed upon a right-click of the ribbon or by clicking the Ribbon Display Options icon.

The refreshed Microsoft Office will be available to Windows 11 Beta Channel users as well as Windows 10 Beta Channel users running build Version 2107 Build 14228.20000.
