LG G8 ThinQ with 6.1-inch Quad HD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 855, triple rear cameras, 3D face unlock announced

LG has announced its flagship G8 ThinQ smartphone at its MWC event as it had promised. It has a 6.1-inch FullVision OLED display, is powered by Snapdragon 855 with 6GB of RAM, runs Android Pie, has triple rear cameras, 16MP 107-degree super wide-angle, 12MP standard and 12MP telephoto with 2x optical zoom. It has 3D ToF front camera that measures the distance between the subject and the camera in millimeters to control the intensity of the background blur up to 256 levels for selfies with more depth. It also offers enhanced security with Hand ID and Face Unlock

Other features include Air Motion to answer or end calls, take screenshots, switch between applications or adjust the volume without touching the screen. Hand ID identifies owners by recognizing the shape, thickness and other individual characteristics of the veins in the palms of their hands to unlock the phone. Video Portrait lets you control bokeh while filming video in Portrait Mode with the rear camera by analyzing distance and depth with Dual FOV technology.

It has Boombox Speaker that is now capable of stereo output with new Crystal Sound OLED (CSO) technology that utilizes the phone’s OLED display as an audio amplifier. It has DTS:X, 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology.

There is also a dual rear camera version of the G8 ThinQ for some regions that cuts out the telephoto lens. Looks like this version is for markets where V50 5G is available, so the other 4G markets should get the triple rear camera model.
