Huawei Kirin 950 Octa-Core 16nm SoC with Mali T880 GPU announced

Huawei has announced Kirin 950 SoC at an event in Beijing today. It is an Octa-Core SoC with four ARM Cortex A72 Cores that can be clocked up to 2.53 GHz and four ARM Cortex A53 Cores that can be clocked up to 1.8 GHz. It is based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture so it can alternate between the Cortex A72 or A53 cores depending on the type of tasks. Huawei NXT-AL10 shows up on benchmarks – Should be the Mate 8

A new Huawei handset has popped up on GFXBench under the alias NXT-AL10. The specifications do reveal a handset that is very similar to the rumoured specifications for the upcoming Mate 8 smartphone from Huawei.

Huawei Honor smartphones now available from Snapdeal in India

Huawei has partnered with Snapdeal to expand it’s online presence, so their smartphones are not exclusive to Flipkart anymore. Initially, three of the honor phones – Honor Bee, Honor 4X and Honor 3C will be made available on the online shopping portal, said the company. Motorola expanded its online presence in India recently by launched the Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) 3G and Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) 4G versions on Amazon India and Snapdeal, after launching them exclusively on Flipkart. The Nexus 6P is hard to repair – iFixit gives it a 2 out of 10 rating

One of the most worrying things these days is damaging your smartphone and the cost of having to fix it after that. Some people prefer to take things into their hands to cut the service costs and replace the parts themselves while others may choose to hand over their device to someone more experienced. In both cases, it helps if the device in question is easy to repair. The Nexus 6P unfortunately doesn’t seem like such a device.

Huawei has announced the Honor Play 5X, the company’s latest smartphone in the Honor Play series in China. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 72.5% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with EMUI 3.1 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with Sony or Samsung sensor, LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has unibody metal build and a fingerprint sensor 2.0 on the back that can unlock the phone in under 0.5 seconds. Huawei outshines Xiaomi to become No.1 smartphone maker in China: Report

Huawei has dethroned Xiaomi to become the No.1 smartphone maker in China in Q3, 2015, as per a latest report from Canalys.  This is the first time Huawei has taken the top position in China.

Google Nexus 6P will be shipped in batches starting from first week of November in India

Google unveiled Nexus 6P smartphone at an event last month and the Huawei-made Nexus phone with metal body was launched in India last month priced at  Rs. 39,999 for the 32GB version and Rs. 42,999 for the 64GB version. At the launch Google said that both the new Nexus smartphones will be available from October 21st, but only the Nexus 5X was released. When the Nexus 6P went on pre-order on Flipkart last week, the shipping date was mentioned as November 2nd for the customers who ordered the phone.

Google unveiled Nexus 6P smartphones at an event last month. Today it has launched the Huawei-made smartphone in India, along with the Nexus 5X. The Nexus 6P packs a 5.7-inch Quad HD display at 518 PPI, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It has a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, IR Laser assisted autofocus and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It has anodized aluminium body and is just 7.3mm thick. Huawei has announced the Enjoy  5 smartphone in China. It was expected to be called the Play 5X, but it has launched as the Enjoy 5. It has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6735 processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Emotion UI 3.1 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual SIM support and comes with 4G connectivity with support for TDD-LTE B38 / B39 / B40 / B41 and FDD-LTE: B1 / B3.
