HUAWEI unveiled EMUI 9.1 alongside the P30 Pro earlier this year and it recently started rolling out the update HUAWEI Mate 20 Series which includes Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Porsche Design Mate 20 RS globally. Today the company announced that it has started rolling out the update for P20 Lite users in India. Huawei Y9 2019, Huawei Nova 3i, Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Huawei Nova 3 will receive the update in the second phase, next week, beginning 24th July.

Update: HUAWEI also said that EROFS (Extendable Read-Only File System) will also be available to these devices. This increases the random read speed on an average by 20% and up to 200% while also saving more than 2GB of system storage. It will also ensure higher response rate when it comes to reading file such as documents, music or videos and help while launching a large app including a game; the startup speed will be faster and takes less time.

HUAWEI has launched Watch GT Active with an improved design and a new bezel pattern color compared to the Watch GT Sports and Classic Editions that were launched in India earlier this year. The Watch GT Active comes with similar specifications as the previous generation including the same 14-day battery life, HUAWEI TruSeen 3.0 heartrate monitoring, HUAWEI TruSleep 2.0 and lots more.

HUAWEI launched the MediaPad M5 Lite with 8-inch display and MediaPad M6 with 8.4-inch 2K display recently. Expanding its lineup, today, HUAWEI has launched its MediaPad T5 in India. HUAWEI MediaPad T5 comes in two storage variants, anti-fall design, dual speakers and more.

Earlier last month, Google announced that it has suspended some of its business operations with HUAWEI which includes a ban on using Google Services and Play Store and later, there were also reports of HUAWEI working on building its own Oak OS. After almost a month, today, the Trump Government announced that the US companies can now start selling to HUAWEI and this announcement was made at the G20 summit.

HUAWEI launched its new mid-range smartphone, HUAWEI Y9 2019 earlier this year. It was launched only in a single RAM and storage variant i.e., 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage at Rs. 15,990. HUAWEI unveiled EMUI 9.1 alongside the P30 Pro earlier this year. The update was slated to be released this week and as promised, the company has released EMUI 9.1 for HUAWEI Mate 20 Series which includes Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and PorscheDesign Mate 20 RS.

HUAWEI introduced its Mate X foldable 5G smartphone earlier this year and the company also confirmed that it will launch the smartphone in India later this year. The launch was being delayed and now, the company has officially announced information regarding the launch of the Mate X foldable smartphone.

Huawei just announced MediaPad M6 series 10.8″ and 8.4″ along with the Nova 5 series in China. It comes in 10.8-inch and 8.4-inch versions with WQXGA (2560 x 1600 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display, are powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 980 SoC and run on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.1 on top. These pack a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with PDAF and an 8MP front camera. These feature a metal frame, but only the 10.8-inch model has a fingerprint sensor on the home button, below the display. It packs a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and has 24-megapixel in-screen camera, is powered by Kirin 710, unlike the Kirin 810 on the Nova 5, has up to 8GB of RAM, runs Android Pie with EMIUI 9.1 top, features quad rear cameras that includes a 24-megapixel primary camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2-megapixel camera for 4cm macro and a 2-megeapixel camera for portrait shots.

HUAWEI just announced Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro smartphones in China, as it had promised. These phones pack a 6.39-inch Full HD+ OLED curved glass dewdrop notch display, run on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.1, and feature Leica quad-lens cameras with 48-megapixel sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, 2-megapixel sensor for 4cm macro and a 2-megapixel for porait shots. HUAWEI just introduced Kirin 810 SoC, successor of last year’s Kirin 710 that powers several mid-range smartphones. It also detailed some features of the processor. It uses 7nm processor technology, similar to the Kirin 980 flagship SoC, and the first for a mid-range SoC. This has two ARM Cortex-A76 bigger cores clocked at 2.27GHz and the other siz smaller ARM Cortex-A55 cores are clocked at 1.88GHz. It has ARM Mali-G52 MP6 GPU, which has a 162% performance improvement over the previous generation and supports Kirin Gaming+ technology. Last month, Google announced that it has suspended some of its business operations with HUAWEI which includes a ban on using Google Services and Play Store, later the period was extended for 3 months. After a month of the announcement of the ban, HUAWEI has today released a statement that it will continue to provide security patches and Android updates (including Android Q) to its existing smartphones. Alongside, HUAWEI smartphones, a range of HONOR smartphones are also expected to receive the update.

Ahead of the official announcement on July 21st, HUAWEI Nova 5 Pro has surfaced in press shots on jd.com. This confirms quad rear cameras, waterdrop notch screen with minimal bezels and an in-display fingerpritn scanner. The phone will come in 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage versions in Forest Green, Purple, Black and Coral Orange colors.
