HUAWEI Watch GT 2 with AMOLED display, integrated microphone and speaker surfaces [Update: To be announced on September 19th]

Update: HUAWEI has confirmed that it will introduce HUAWEI Watch GT2 with Kirin A1 chip on September 19th along with the Mate 30 series.

Earlier: HUAWEI launched the Watch GT with AMOLED display, dual-crown design earlier this year in India and the company also recently launched the Watch GT Active with improved design. Now, the successor of Watch GT has surfaced with a bigger battery, integrated microphone and speaker and more.

According to a report from WinFuture, the HUAWEI Watch GT 2 carries the model number LTN-B19 along with the code name “Latona”. The leaked images show a compact and slim design and at the same time, the display is also said to be a tad larger compared to its predecessor. The battery is also said to be larger at 445mAh compared to 420mAh on the Watch GT.

The new addition in this HUAWEI Watch GT 2 is an integrated microphone and a speaker, according to the report. The inclusion of an integrated microphone and speaker suggests that it might also come with LTE integration. It will also include a heart-rate monitor and features that were seen on the Watch GT. However, most likely it will not run on Wear OS by Android and will run on Huawei’s own operating system.

HUAWEI is expected to unveil this smartwatch at IFA 2019 or unveil it alongside the Mate 30 Series smartphone launch on September 19th, 2019.
