Earlier this year there were reports about Asus making the next Nexus tablet, but a recent report from DigiTimes claims that HTC would be making the next Nexus tablet that would launch sometime in Q3 2014. HTC has launched the Desire 816, the company’s latest phablet in India. It was announced at the MWC 2014 earlier this year. has a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display, powered by a 1.6 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with HTC Sense 6.0 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has dual-front-facing BoomSound speakers and comes with dual SIM support. HTC has launched the HTC One (M8) successor of last year’s HTC One (M7) in India. It was announced back in February and has a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Corning Gorilla glass protection, powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with the new HTC Sense 6.0 UI. It has Duo camera setup with a primary UltraPixel camera (1/3″ BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens, pixel size of 2.0 microns) and a secondary rear camera to capture depth information. HTC One was announced more than a year back and it introduced a whole new concept of UltraPixel camera. HTC gave up on the Megapixel race and packed its flagship camera with a 4UltraPixel unit along with OIS. The camera did well in low light conditions, but failed in normal conditions and many claimed that camera was a big let down in the HTC One. A year later, HTC announced the HTC One successor in the form of HTC One M8 and it improves the UltraPixel camera concept.
