Google just announced new Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G smartphones at its ‘Launch Night In’ event, as expected. The Pixel 5 comes with a 6-inch FHD+ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, and the Pixel 4a 5G comes with a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display with 60Hz refresh rate. Both the smartphones are powered by Snapdragon 765G with 5G SA/NSA, come with Titan M Security chip, 12.2MP rear camera, OIS along with a 16MP 107° Ultra-wide secondary camera, and an 8-megapixel camera on the front. When Epic Games started a legal fight with Apple over the latter’s app store policies and high fee on app-store purchases, Epic Games also filed a lawsuit against Google on similar grounds. While Apple is fighting back against the lawsuit aggressively, Google is looking to make changes in their policies to make themselves appear less anti-competitive, announcing that they will be making it easier for users to select an alternative app store on Android 12.

Google has announced the launch of a new Android TV update that will be based on Android 11. With it, Google is improving OS performance and privacy features, added many under-the-hood improvements and updated developer tools for testing and deployment.
Google has announced a new partnership with VISA that will enable direct card payments on the app via a Tap-to-pay feature, with support on AXIS bank and SBI cards at launch. The feature will use the tokenization method to authenticate payments made by users at NFC-enabled POS terminals and online merchants.

The Android Go Edition is version of Android that is specifically designed for low spec-ed smartphones. The program was started back in 2018, and now Google has released the Android 11 (Go Edition) with improvements to speed, improved permissions, gesture-based navigation and more.
Google already confirmed that Pixel 5 will be introduced in late 2020. Now a new Pixel 5s live image has surfaced online. This reveals a similar camera design and rear-mounted camera design as the Pixel 5, so it is not clear if there will be internal changes to this phone.
