Google’s ‘Switch to Android’ iOS app might bring iCloud to Google Photos transfer

The latest report from 9to5 Google suggests that Google may introduce the option to transfer photos from iCloud to Drive by introducing a proprietary app named “Switch to Android”. The report comes as a result of decompiling the latest version of the Data Transfer Tool app, which is available on the Play Store for transferring data from Android to Android devices. Google I/O 2022 scheduled to be held on May 11-12

This year, Google’s annual developer conference “Google IO” has been scheduled to be held on May 11th and May 12th. The event will continue to be an online event with no on-site attendance, and will be held at the usual Shoreline Amphitheatre.

McLaren Racing, Google partnership — F1 cars to feature Android and Chrome branding

McLaren Racing has announced that it has signed a multi-year partnership with Google, as a new Official Partner of the McLaren Formula 1 Team and the McLaren MX Extreme E Team from 2022.  Android and Chrome branding will be used on the engine cover and wheel covers of the MCL36 Formula 1 race cars, as you can see in the image. Google to begin testing an alpha-version of Steam on Chrome OS

Back in January 2020, Google revealed that they were working on bringing support for Steam to Chrome OS. After more than 2 years, Google will soon be testing an alpha-quality version of Steam on Chrome OS in the Dev channel. The test will be available only for select Chromebooks to begin with.

Google Pixel Feature Drop adds Night Sight for Snapchat, Live Caption phone replies and more

Google has released their 10th Pixel Feature drop for March 2022, bringing a bunch of new features to Pixel devices. Pixel 6 series users can now access Night Sight directly in Snapchat, communicate in phone calls using Live Caption, and there are a couple of features added to devices as old as Pixel 3a.

Google Pixel 6A launch may get delayed to July due to chip shortage

Google’s upcoming Pixel 6A smartphones may be delayed as the company is reportedly facing problems with supply chains and chip shortages. The budget Pixel device was originally rumoured to launch sometime in May, but the chip shortage issues may have pushed the launch to late July. With it, the Pixel Watch could see its launch also delayed to July.

Google Pixel 7 with dual rear cameras, smaller body surfaces in renders

After the renders of the Pixel 7 Pro that surfaced yesterday, the render of the smaller Pixel 7 has surfaced, thanks to @OnLeaks. This shows a similar camera bar with dual rear cameras, but it is now merged with the frame. The phone is said to retain the wide main camera and an ultra-wide camera, but the exact camera specs are not known yet. Details about the Google Pixel 7 series surfaced recently, now the first render of the Pixel 7 Pro has surfaced, thanks to @OnLeaks. Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro codenames surface, could use Tensor GS201 SoC, Exynos Modem 5300

Google is expected to introduce the Pixel 7 series later this year. Now the ‘Cheetah’, and ‘Panther’ codenames for the Pixel 7 and the Pixel 7 Pro have surfaced in the Android 13 Developer Preview. The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro has codenames ‘Oriole’ and ‘Raven’, respectively, and the Pixel 6a’s codename is said to be Pixel 6a ‘Bluejay’. Google introduces new HCT colour system for Android’s Material design language

Colour is an important component when it comes to UI and design, and it plays a large role in Google’s latest Material You design language that is present in Android 12. The company is now open sourcing their Material Color Utilities code library to help developers make better looking apps, and also introduced a new HCT colour system that is designed to be “perceptually accurate”.
