Google releases Android 12 Beta 2 update with Privacy Dashboard, Mic and camera indicators and more

After releasing the first Android 12 beta update during the Google I/O last month, Google today released Android 12 Beta 2 update that brings new privacy features like the Privacy Dashboard that was announced at the Google I/O, as well as various feature updates to improve functionality, stability, and performance. There is also Passpoint updates for developers, a new power button in the quick settings menu, wallpaper-based Material You themes, Quick tap that lets you double-tap the fingerprint sensor and perform various shortcut actions and more. Google announces Android choice screen update to show more Search Engines for EU users

In 2018, Google introduced an Android choice screen for users to select their Search engine of choice when setting up an Android phone, but its implementation still received many complaints from third-party search engines. The company has now updated it to allow third-party search engines to sign up for free and will soon feature more search engines in the choice screen.

After reports, Google has officially introduced Pixel Buds A-Series, a cheaper truly wireless earbuds compared to the Pixel Buds that was introduced last year. These have custom-designed 12mm dynamic speaker driver that promise full, clear and natural sound, and Bass Boost option. These offer passive noise reduction, thanks to secure fit along with a spatial vent that in-ear pressure and spatial awareness. The stabilizer arc ensures a gentle, but secure fit. Google Photos introduces Storage management tool ahead of Unlimited storage policy change

June 1st is right around the corner, which is the date when Google Photos will no longer offer unlimited free storage for photo backups. The company has released a blog post that details the effects of this policy starting June 1st, and also released a helpful new Storage Management tool to help users keep track of their backups.

Google Docs is now adding support for the ability to create or import documents that have images above or behind texts. The feature is great for users who are importing docs from Microsoft Word, where Google Docs will ensure that the formatting is preserved.

Google Chrome’s new Follow feature will allow you to keep track of content on your favourite websites

Google is testing a new way to follow content from websites by using the open RSS web standard, with a feature called Follow. The feature is experimental and is currently being tested on some Chrome Canary builds for Android users in the US.

Google Pixel 6 with 6.4-inch AMOLED display, dual rear cameras surface in more renders

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro surfaced in renders last week, thanks to leaker, Jon Prosser. It didn’t reveal the complete design of the phones. After the Pixel 6 Pro, detailed CAD-based renders of the Pixel 6 have surfaced, thanks to OnLeaks. This shows the chin below the display, and the phone is said to feature a 6.4-inch flat AMOLED screen, compared to 6.67-inch curved AMOLED screen in the Pro version. It has minimal bezels and an in-display fingerprint scanner and the image shows centre punch-hole that was had seen in earlier renders. Android 12 Beta 1 rolls out for Pixel series and more smartphones – Here’s how you can download

Google released Android developer preview for Android ‘12’, the next major Android release, back in February and released the DP 2 in March and the DP 3 last month. The company today started rolling out Android 12 beta 1 for its Pixel smartphone range, after it was announced at the I/O today. Beta 1 will also be available for 10 more brands including ASUS, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, SHARP, TECNO, TCL, vivo’s iQOO, Xiaomi and ZTE, in addition to all the Pixel phones (Pixel 3 and later).
