RIM’s BBX smartphones to come with PlayBook like display and BES support

RIM’s new BBX smartphones may come with better specs that is similar to the BlackBerry PlayBook and not look like the BlackBerry Bold says the RIM’s vice president of Developer Relations and Ecosystem Development, Alec Saunders in an interview with PC Mag. The BlackBerry BBX phones would have 16:9 aspect ratio and 1024 x 600 resolution display similar to the BlackBerry PlayBook unlike the 800 x 480 resolution displays in the recently launched BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Torch 2 smartphones. The resolution is also different from other phones that come HD resolution (1028 x 720 pixels) displays such as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, HTC Rezound and the LG Optimus LTE. RIM to continue developing Flash Player for BlackBerry PlayBook


RIM (Research in Motion) has announced that they would continue working on and releasing its own implementations of Flash Player in the future. Yesterday, Adobe announced that it is stopping development of Flash Player for mobile browsers and mobile devices and focus more on HTML5 development. BBM Music launched in US, Canada and Australia


RIM has launched their own cloud based music service, BBM Music after closed Beta trial of several months in Canada, the United States and the UK. The BBM music was announced in August.  The BBM Music is powered by cloud music service provider, Omnifone and it has millions of songs from leading music companies. The BBM music lets you listen to full tracks from the friend’s profile, build a music profile with 50 of your favorite songs with an option to swap 25 songs each month and create multiple playlist. The more BBM friends with BBM Music Premium subscriptions you have, the more songs you can share. Kik Messenger Introduces New Symbian, Windows Phone Apps At Nokia World

The cross platform messenger service Kik today launched its Symbian and updated Windows Phone apps at the Nokia World conference in London. The messenger competes with the likes of WhatsApp and is also  available on iOS , Android and Blackberry platforms. With the new Symbian app Kik Messenger users should be able to communicate regardless of platform of choice.

Twitter for BlackBerry v2.1 (Beta) brings Multi-Account support

Twitter for BlackBerry has been updated to version 2.1 in the Beta Zone. This version brings Multi-Account support and better profile functions for editing and account switching. The previous beta version 2.0 brought major changes such as geo location and push notification.The version 2.0 was released in the App World later with all those features. The recent minor update v2.0.0.15 Beta brought new color scheme, hidden compose bar, local trending topics etc. based on consumer feedback. Research In Motion (RIM) has announced that they would offer a selection of premium apps worth US $100 as a compensation for the service service interruptions and delays in Europe, the Middle East, India, Africa, Latin America, Canada and United States. Longest BlackBerry Service Outage finally resolved , co-CEO apologizes

If you are a BlackBerry user , you might have been experiencing a tough time for the last few days with BlackBerry services such as Email and BBM not functioning in many parts of the world including India , Europe and USA.The company had initially attributed the downtime to a switch failure within it’s network. But then the network suffered downtime again due to tremendous amount of backlog of emails flowing through the system.Today RIM Founder and Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis issued a public video apology accepting responsibility for the downtime and that the company is working round the clock to address the issue.BlackBerry services seem be to back to normal in most of the affected countries.
