Just 3 days ago in a blog post, WhatsApp confirmed and released some information about a long rumored feature for their app called Disappearing Messages. The feature has been in development and beta testing for many months now, and is finally rolling out globally to everyone over the next one month.
WhatsApp introduced storage management feature back in 2017 to offer detailed break-up of the amount of space chats, images, GIFs, videos, audio messages, and documents take up on your device. Now it has started rolling out a redesigned storage management tool that conveniently groups both large files and media that has been forwarded many times, sorts files by size in descending order, and provides a way to preview files before deleting them. WhatsApp has released a new beta app version 2.20.201.1 for Android that contains a new feature they are testing – Expiring Media. The feature is said to work similar in ways to Snapchat and disappearing media in Telegram where received media will disappear after the user leaves the chat.

A little over a week ago, an update to WhatsApp Beta revealed that the developers were working on animated stickers and now, in a blog post, they have confirmed the feature. Along with it, they also announced the ability to add WhatsApp contacts via QR codes, brought dark mode for their desktop apps and WhatsApp Web and more.
In what looks like an accidental move, WhatsApp released new animated stickers in the WhatsApp Store in Beta v2.20.194.7. The feature disappeared in a subsequent Beta update v2.20.194.9, suggesting that the feature is still very much in development.
