WhatsApp testing 90 days option for Disappearing Messages feature

Back in November last year, WhatsApp introduced the 7 days option for Disappearing Messages feature, and the company has been working on expanding the feature to include a 24-hour option as well. Now, WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new option for this feature.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a 90 days option for the Disappearing Messages feature, where messages in group chats and individual chats would automatically be deleted after 90 days. This will exist along the 24 hours and 7 days option and is reportedly under development now.

To recall, when the Disappearing Messages are activated for a chat, messages in that particular chat that was more than 24 hours/7 days old/90 days would automatically be deleted from the user’s smartphone and from the server.

The feature is expected to be rolled out to the beta versions of Android, iOS, and WhatsApp Web first, and then in the future, it will come to the stable version. We should know more information in the coming months.
