Lenovo IdeaPhone S890 hands-on

Lenovo unveiled range of Android smartphones at the CES 2013. We got some hands-on time with the IdeaPhone S890, the company’s high-end smartphone at CES. It has a 5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD IPS screen with 178 degree viewing angle and the phone is 9.3mm thick. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with Lenovo’s custom UI on top. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby.

LG Vu Talk Demo

We had shown you the hands on of the LG Optimus Vu II earlier, and with the Vu II comes an interesting real-time collaboration feature that might impress you at first sight, and that is called Vu Talk. Vu Talk works between two Optimus Vu devices over a 3G or a WiFi network. It’s basically like real-time messaging but using a stylus-laden note taking app. Check out the really impressive demo of the Vu Talk in the hands on video.

Carbon for Twitter finally arrives for Android

Carbon Twitter client for Android that was first previewed in March last year is finally available on Google Play. The UI looks good, and there are lot of unique features such as Tilt to Refresh, QuickTimeline, but it is missing lot of settings, Homescreen Widgets and Streaming. HTC M4 and HTC G2 specs leak out, to be announced after M7?

The HTC M7 is almost confirmed, with them planning the press event at London and NYC on the 19th of February, right before the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona, which is starting on the 25th. But according to some new leaks from the leakmeister, @EVleaks at UnwiredView, HTC is filling up its portfolio with two other devices, the HTC M4 and the HTC G2. By looking at the specs, the HTC M4 looks like a mid to high end device, with possibilities of it being a successor to the HTC One S. It is also interesting to note that the hardware specs somewhat resemble the HTC Windows Phone 8X, while the HTC G2(which bears no similarities to the first Android phone) is supposedly a low end device and a probable successor to the HTC Desire C.

Acer Liquid C1 with 4.3-inch qHD IPS display, 1.2 GHz Intel Atom processor announced

Acer and Intel has announced the Liquid C1 powered by the Intel’s 1.2 GHz Atom Lexington Z2420 processor for the Asia Pacific region. The Xolo X500 that was launched in India last week uses the same processor, Acer was also announced as a partner at the announcement in CES 2013 last month. The Liquid C1 has a 4.3-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) IPS touch screen display with 16:9 ratio and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 8MP auto focus camera at the back with LED flash that can capture images at 5 frames per second. It also features a 0.3MP front-facing camera. Xolo X500 benchmarks – Intel Atom Z2420 CPU and Power VR SGX540 GPU

Xolo X500 was launched in India last week. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. The Xolo X500 is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Lexington Z2420 single-core processor with Power VR SGX540 GPU. The Xolo X900 that was launched in India last year is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2460 Medfield processor, but the new CPU is aimed at low-cost Android smartphones. Even the new chip has Intel’s hyper threading technology that offers better mutitasking capabilities. Let us see how it stacks up with the other Android smartphones. Spice Stellar Pinnacle Mi-530 with 5.3-inch IPS display, Android 4.0 officially launched for Rs. 13999

S Mobility has officially launched the Stellar Pinnacle Mi-530. It was listed on online retailer Saholic earlier this week. It has a 5.3-inch (960 × 540 pixels) IPS LCD display, powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) which is upgradable to Jelly Bean. It has a 8 MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, 1080p HD video recording and a 5 MP front-facing camera. The company launched the Stellar Virtuoso Mi-495 with a 4.5-inch qHD display earlier this month. Micromax A54 Ninja 3.5 is now available from online retailers Snapdeal and Flipkart in India. It has 3.5-inch (480 x 320 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, has dual SIM support, runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and has a 3MP rear camera similar to its predecessor, A57 Ninja 3.0 that was launched last year. Samsung has announced the Galaxy Express, new Android smartphone in the Galaxy series that comes with LTE support. It has a 4.5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. Micromax A65 Smarty 4.3 now available for Rs. 4999

Micromax A65 Smarty 4.3 Dual SIM Android smartphone is now available from online retailers Saholic and Flipkart in India. It has a 4.3-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
