Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection arrives for Linux, coming to Android and iOS soon

Microsoft announced Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection for enterprise customers back in 2016. Later in 2018 it announced advanced threat protection (ATP) for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, way before the Windows 7 support ended in January 2020. Today, it has announced public preview of Microsoft Defender ATP for Linux. It supports servers running distributed versions of RHEL 7+, CentOS Linux 7+, Ubuntu 16 LTS, or higher LTS, SLES 12+, Debian 9+ and Oracle EL 7. Google has released Android 11 Developer Preview ahead of the final release later this year so that developers can test it, this time bit early. Mozilla launches VPN service in beta for Android, Windows 10 and more

Mozilla, the makers of the famous Firefox browser, is entering the VPN market space with the launch of their beta VPN android app. The paid VPN service is developed in partnership with Mullvad and will use the WireGuard protocol to secure its connections.

Google testing auto-fill of 2FA codes from Android Messages

Autofill from SMS has been a feature in Android for many years now. It used an API that allowed apps to read the users messages to mostly authenticate the login credentials. Now, it has been reported that Google is testing the ability to let Messages autofill SMS-based 2FA keys too in any app.

Samsung partners with Google for Google Duo integration and Live Caption in Galaxy S20

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series was announced just yesterday at the Samsung Unpacked event and it contains a bunch of new features. Get Android 10 on Redmi Note 5 Pro with OxygenOS port

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was amongst best-selling devices in 2018, launched with Android Nougat, it received Android 8.1 (Oreo) update in June 2018. The company rolled out Android 9.0 (Pie) update to the smartphone back in May 2019, the device is almost 2 years old now and has already received two Android updates. It is almost certain that Xiaomi will not update the Android version on the Redmi Note 5 Pro, but in case you own a Redmi Note 5 Pro and wish to keep your device updated with the latest Android version, you may try a custom ROM. realme 3 Pro gets official Pixel Experience support

realme launched the realme 3 Pro in the country back in April 2019 running ColorOS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 (Pie). realme X and realme Pro series devices will get two Android updates

realme announced Android 10 update roadmap for its devices back in September, but it didn’t mention anything about the older devices like realme C1, realme 2, realme U1. In the recent episode of #AskMadhav, the company’s CEO, Madhav Sheth said that the company will roll-out one Android update to all the smartphones, but didn’t mention anything about the premium series of devices such as realme X2 Pro.
