BlackBerry PlayBook launched in India , Prices Out !

BlackBerry maker Research in Motion today launched the much awaited BlackBerry Tablet – PlayBook at an event in Mumbai today. The 7-inch PlayBook is powered by a 1GHz Dual Core processor and packs 1 GB of RAM. It runs on QNX which makes the BlackBerry PlayBook really snappy. The Multitasking on the PlayBook is the best we have even seen on a Tablet. The Browser and Multimedia capabilities are pretty awesome too. Motorola Xoom WiFi version will launch in Malaysia on May 6th


Motorola has announced the launch of Honeycomb tablet, Motorola Xoom in Malaysia, which will be available on May 6th with Maxis Communications. This was launched in it Singapore recently. Motorola Xoom was showcased at CES 2011. The Wi-FI version was spotted last month and later it was officially launched in U.S at the end of March. Sony Tablet – S1 and S2 Honeycomb Tablets announced

Tokyo, Japan – Sony Corp has announced the Sony Tablet and has shown off 2 devices the S1 and S2 which are Android Honeycomb tablets. The S1 is a tablet aimed at rich media entertainment while the S2 is aimed at mobile communication and entertainment. Bear in mind that these devices are just codenames and we will know the real names once the company launches them in Fall 2011.

HTC Flyer WiFi version Priced at £479

Back at MWC, HTC officially announced their first ever Android powered tablet which is known as the HTC Flyer. The device isn’t running Honeycomb like recently announced tablets i.e. Motorola XOOM, LG Optimus Pad. But the device offers a completely different experience compared to other tablets available in the market. Thanks to HTC Sense UI for tablet and HTC Scribe feature. Its 3G version is currently available in UK for £599 which is expensive, but don’t worry because there is always a solution. If you don’t care about 3G then Wi-Fi version of Flyer is perfect for you. Rumor: Motorola to reduce Xoom shipments gradually – Xoom 2 expected?

Motorola is expected to ship 700,000-800,000 units of their first Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) tablet Xoom in the first quarter of 2011. With total shipment of 200,000 units in the month of February, which should reach 400,000-500,000 at the end of month of march, their forecast looks good according to upstream suppliers.

Samsung to launch 2 new Galaxy Tab Tablets at CTIA

Samsung’s head of Mobile JK Shin just announced at the Unpacked event at CTIA that the company will be launching 2 new Galaxy Tabs today . This comes as a surprise as we were expecting only one 8.9 inch tablet from the Korean handset maker.

HP TouchPad Live Pics and Hands On Video

We had the chance to get close to the HP TouchPad Tablet running on webOS during MWC and although the device was a prototype , it was super impressive. It was really interesting to see webOS on a large screen and multitasking rocked on the TouchPad ( watch video below). the 9.7 inch display was utilized pretty well by the card interface of webOS

Samsung to Announce 8.9″ Tablet Next Month

At the MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Fira, Barcelona last week, Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab 10.1. They justified the naming scheme by stating that they are planning to release tablets of different sizes in order to meet the needs of different consumers.
