Samsung Electronics has announced the new Notebook 9 Pen 2-in-1 PC with a built-in S Pen. The Notebook 9 Pen is built with an all-metal and aluminum frame that can be taken anywhere. With Galaxy S10 series launch set for February 2019, rumor mill seems to be in no mood to rest. We have already seen renders of the S10 series showing a small cutout on top to accommodate the front camera (two in case of Galaxy S10+). Now, we are getting to see more details of the same showing prototype of the device with a corner notch. New render from a case maker shows triple rear cameras and a single front camera. However, another version of S10+ is said to pack four rear cameras, dual front cameras and support for 5G. Samsung is known to be working on Galaxy S10 flagships which are due February 2019 at the MWC event. The Galaxy S10 is confirmed to come in three variants; the regular S10, S10 Plus, and a beyond X high-end model. However, a new variant; dubbed the Galaxy S10 Lite. The combined AR and VR headset market grew 9.4% year over year in the Q3 2018, according to the IDC. The VR headset market returned to growth in Q3 2018 after four consecutive quarters of decline and now makes up 97% of the combined market. Samsung, Qualcomm, and Verizon have announced a successful 5G New Radio (NR) data connection using 400MHz of bandwidth in the 28GHz spectrum, resulting in maximum throughput of more than 1.7 Gbps. The data connection demonstrated the delivery of multi-gigabit 5G speeds to a smartphone form-factor mobile test device. Samsung has finally opened up Galaxy Note 9 One UI based on Android Pie beta after it by mistakenly opened registrations in the US last week. The beta testing is now rolling out in Germany and India. The registrations are now open through the Samsung Members app and the update is about 1.5GB in size. According to IDC, the global shipments of wearable devices reached 32.0 million units in the Q3 2018, up 21.7% from the previous year. New products from the likes of Fitbit, Garmin, and Huawei helped the basic wearables category return to growth during the quarter. Another factor was the growing demand in markets like Asia which accounted for more than half of all shipments and grew 21.4% compared to the previous year. Verizon and Samsung announced that they will bring the first commercial 5G smartphone to the market in the first half of 2019. The companies will unveil a proof of concept, powered by the upcoming flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile Platform with the Snapdragon X50 5G NR modem and antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end, and antenna elements, at the annual Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit later this week. Samsung is said to be planning to invest close to $40 million in Pokémon Go game creator Niantic in a deal to bring out “exclusive games,” according to sources. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 will be powered by the Exynos 9820 that is an 8nm SoC with Tri-cluster CPU, integrated NPU, up to 2Gbps LTE-Advanced Pro modem. Before the official launch, the first Galaxy S10 Exynos 9820 benchmark has surfaced online. It is internally referred to as “beyond2” and should be branded as the Galaxy S10+ when it goes official.
