Samsung Galaxy S10+ with in-display camera surface in renders, live images

With Galaxy S10 series launch set for February 2019, rumor mill seems to be in no mood to rest. We have already seen renders of the S10 series showing a small cutout on top to accommodate the front camera (two in case of Galaxy S10+). Now, we are getting to see more details of the same showing prototype of the device with a corner notch. New render from a case maker shows triple rear cameras and a single front camera. However, another version of S10+ is said to pack four rear cameras, dual front cameras and support for 5G. Samsung is known to be working on Galaxy S10 flagships which are due February 2019 at the MWC event. The Galaxy S10 is confirmed to come in three variants; the regular S10, S10 Plus, and a beyond X high-end model. However, a new variant; dubbed the Galaxy S10 Lite. Indian wearable shipments reach 897,000 units, up 17% YoY in Q3 2018; Xiaomi continues to lead: IDC

The smart wearable market in India has shipped a total of 102,000 units in Q3 2018, according to IDC. After launching it globally last week, Samsung has launched the 860 QVO SSD  its new consumer solid state drive (SSD) lineup in India. The new SSD lineup comes with up to four terabytes (TB) of storage capacity and is built on the high-density 4-bit multi-level cell (MLC) NAND flash architecture. Update: Another render shows a similar front design with dual front cameras, but also shows quad rear cameras arranged horizontally, unlike the Galaxy A9. The flash and sensors are arranged vertically, next to the camera.

Worldwide AR and VR headset market grew 9.4% YoY in Q3 2018: IDC

The combined AR and VR headset market grew 9.4% year over year in the Q3 2018, according to the IDC. The VR headset market returned to growth in Q3 2018 after four consecutive quarters of decline and now makes up 97% of the combined market. Samsung and Verizon demonstrate 5G data transmission using 400MHz of mmWave spectrum

Samsung, Qualcomm, and Verizon have announced a successful 5G New Radio (NR) data connection using 400MHz of bandwidth in the 28GHz spectrum, resulting in maximum throughput of more than 1.7 Gbps. The data connection demonstrated the delivery of multi-gigabit 5G speeds to a smartphone form-factor mobile test device. Samsung Galaxy Note9 One UI based Android 9.0 Pie beta update starts rolling out

Samsung has finally opened up Galaxy Note 9 One UI based on Android Pie beta after it by mistakenly opened registrations in the US last week.  The beta testing is now rolling out in Germany and India. The registrations are now open through the Samsung Members app and the update is about 1.5GB in size. Worldwide Wearable shipments reach 32 million units, up 21.7% YoY in Q3 2018: IDC

According to IDC, the global shipments of wearable devices reached 32.0 million units in the Q3 2018, up 21.7% from the previous year. New products from the likes of Fitbit, Garmin, and Huawei helped the basic wearables category return to growth during the quarter. Another factor was the growing demand in markets like Asia which accounted for more than half of all shipments and grew 21.4% compared to the previous year. Samsung, Verizon team up to bring first commercial 5G smartphone early 2019

Verizon and Samsung announced that they will bring the first commercial 5G smartphone to the market in the first half of 2019. The companies will unveil a proof of concept, powered by the upcoming flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile Platform with the Snapdragon X50 5G NR modem and antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end, and antenna elements, at the annual Qualcomm Snapdragon Technology Summit later this week. Samsung said to invest $40 million in Niantic for ‘exclusive games’ including Harry Potter game for Galaxy smartphones

Samsung is said to be planning to invest close to $40 million in Pokémon Go game creator Niantic in a deal to bring out “exclusive games,” according to sources. The deal could be announced within the next few weeks and will also see Niantic’s games come pre-loaded on Galaxy smartphones. Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus powered by Exynos 9820 8nm SoC surfaces in benchmarks

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S10 will be powered by the Exynos 9820 that is an 8nm SoC with Tri-cluster CPU, integrated NPU, up to 2Gbps LTE-Advanced Pro modem. Before the official launch, the first Galaxy S10 Exynos 9820 benchmark has surfaced online. It is internally referred to as “beyond2” and should be branded as the Galaxy S10+ when it goes official. Samsung Galaxy A8s detailed specs surface – 6.39-inch Infinity-O FHD+ display, Snapdragon 710, triple rear cameras

It is known that Samsung is working on Infinity O display packed Galaxy A8s which is scheduled to launch in December. It will be the first smartphone for Samsung to pack Infinity O which will have a small cut out at the top to accommodate the front cameras. Samsung Galaxy M2 with Full HD+ notch display, Exynos 7885 surface in benchmarks

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy M2 smartphone in the days to come, as the device now surfaced on the AnTuTu and Geekbench. The listings reveal some of the specifications of Galaxy M2 and hint that it might be an entry-level smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy M2 is the first smartphone in the company’s new Galaxy M series.
