HMD Global has announced the Nokia 3.2 successor of the last year’s Nokia 3.1 at the MWC 2019 event. Nokia 8 gets Android 9.0 (Pie) beta update as the stable update is delayed

Qualcomm and Nokia announce the completion of 5G NR mmWave and Sub-6 GHz Over-the-Air interoperability

Qualcomm Technologies and Nokia have announced that they have successfully achieved over-the-air (OTA) 5G NR data calls in both the mmWave and sub-6 GHz spectrum bands. It is in compliant with the global 3GPP 5G NR Release 15 specification in NSA mode. The interoperability testing milestones were completed at Nokia’s 5G center of excellence in Oulu, Finland using commercially available Nokia AirScale base stations and a test device powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem and antenna modules. Nokia and OPPO ink multi-year patent licensing agreement

Nokia has announced that it has signed a patent license agreement with OPPO. Under the agreement, OPPO will make payments to Nokia for a multi-year license period. Nokia’s Chennai factory to start manufacturing first 5G radio equipment in India

Nokia has announced that its manufacturing unit in Chennai in South India has started manufacturing 5G New Radio (NR) based on the 3GPP 5G New Radio Release 15 standard. The Chennai plant is one of the largest telecom equipment manufacturing plant in the country. It has recently reached 4 million unit annual production milestone of 2G, 3G and 4G units. Nokia 7.1 Hands on Impressions: Premium Mid-range Never Felt so Good

Slotting in between the Nokia 7 Plus and the 6 series, the all new Nokia 7.1 is an interesting device that is bringing the best of  Nokia’s design chops to the mid range segment. A device that is predominantly designed to make inroads in the European markets, it plays it safe but makes the right additions to make it all the more appealing. We spent a bit of time checking out the phone and came out quite liking what the company has done here.
