Cyanogen has partnered with email app Boxer  that will now come pre-loaded on the next version of Cyanogen OS. This partnership will bring the premium version of Boxer along with a new Material Design that will only be found in Cyanogen OS 12.

Microsoft to reportedly invest in Cyanogen

Microsoft is looking forward to invest in Cyanogen, according to a latest report from The Wall Street Journal. Cyanogen which is the principal backer of the popular, open source CyanogenMod distribution of the Android operating system, which is used in the OnePlus One and YU Yureka smartphone.

Confirmed: OnePlus One sold in India will not receive CyanogenMod updates

Cyanogen inked an exclusive deal with the popular Indian manufacturer Micromax, a couple of days ago. The terms of the partnership did create some confusion in the minds of the potential OnePlus One buyers in the country.

Back then a press release from Cyanogen said that their mobile operating system will not support any other device expect the Yu branded smartphones in India. The statement came at a time OnePlus launched their device in the sub-continent and this is when things started to get messy. Pete Lau’s OnePlus and Cyanogen will partner to create the OnePlus One

Pete Lau, the distinguished engineer from Oppo, had announced earlier that he left the company to pursue something new. It was known that it involved CyanogenMod and its CTO Steve Kondik, but now we know what exactly they are upto. Pete Lau is now the CEO of a new hardware start up called OnePlus, and unsurprisingly, its software partner will be Cyanogen Inc. which will power its phones, starting with the flagship “OnePlus One”. No, we are not making that up.

Oppo’s Pete Lau teams up with Steve Kondik to create the perfect Android flagship

Over the past few months, Oppo has come up as one of the most notable smartphone brands emerging out of China. The company had trumpeted their appreciation for CyanogenMod and made it easy for users to shift to the third party ROM on their phones. However it looks like the company’s VP Pete Lau will be leaving Oppo to launch a new brand in association with Cyanogen’s Steve Kondik. Focal camera app now available on Google Play, distances itself from CyanogenMod

 

Ever since CyanogenMod announced the formation of a new company called Cyanogen Inc, there’s been a lot of drama involved within the team. Guillaume Lesniak, the person behind the rather awesome Focal camera app, has distanced himself from Cyanogen because of the changes in licensing. Soon to hit the Galaxy Tab 10.1 – CM9 (Android 4.0)

Now, as we all have witnessed Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), strutting its stuff on the mobile devices, we still haven’t ported it on a tablet yet. Well the people with Galaxy Tab 10.1s waiting for official Android 4.0 to hit their devices have nothing to worry about as Cyanogen himself has confirmed that he has ported CM9 on the Galaxy Tab through his Google+ account.

CyanogenMod 7 coming to Sony Ericsson Xperia handsets officially


Steve Kondik, CyanogenMod’s chief developer, has confirmed that CyanogenMod 7 (CM7) will be coming to Sony Ericsson Xperia handsets in its upcoming release. They have been working with FreeXperia team to make this happen and this team is now part of the CyanogenMod development group. Cyanogen launches Android 2.2 ROM for G1 and MyTouch3G

If someone loves the G1 and MyTouch3G more than HTC and T-Mobile, then only one person, and his name is Cyanogen. Cyanogen is the guy who love making ROMs and hacking Android handsets, mostly G1 and MyTouch3G, and the reason he does that is because the manufacturer forgot to launch the update for the phone.
