BlackBerry Torch 9860 Review


Here is the FoneArena review of the BlackBerry Torch 9860. You saw the hands-on images of the phone few months back. This is a full touch phone that is the successor or the BlackBerry Storm 2. RIM launched the BlackBerry Torch 2 in India last September. Everything has been refreshed since the Storm 2. The BlackBerry Torch 9860 has 3.7 inch capacitive touch-screen display, 4 GB onboard memory that is expandable up to 32GB with MicroSD and has 768 MB RAM. It is 11.5 mm thick and weighs  135 g. New images of BlackBerry 10 OS has surfaced that shows new UI and features such as home-screen Widgets, updated icon tray with search, camera, and call buttons, new folder icons similar to iOS and much more. BlackBerry PlayBook 3G with 1.5GHz dual-core processor, NFC rumored

RIM’s 2012 lineup of devices has surfaced. This reveals new BlackBerry PlayBook with upgraded 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor and new BlackBerry curve devices. According to the slides from BGR, the upgraded PlayBook would come with 42Mbps HSPA+ Connectivity and NFC support, in addition to OS 2.0 in May or June. BlackBerry maker RIM gets a new CEO Thorsten Heins

BlackBerry maker RIM has appointed Thorsten Heins as it’s new CEO. RIM has been facing stiff competition from iPhone and Android devices and lost a lot of market share in the US. The company has been drawing a lot of criticism from investors who have been demanding a management overhaul for several months now as the shares of the company have trading at lower levels. With the appointment of the new CEO, the current c0-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Basillie are stepping down from their posts as co-CEOs but will still be part of the company’s board .Despite losing market share and facing plenty of competition BlackBerry devices are still unbeatable when in comes to handling Email. But that comes with a price tag as BlackBerry devices need to be used with a special plan.BlackBerry OS 7 devices were launched last year and BlackBerry 10 devices which pack QNX are expected to be launched this year.

MTNL Mumbai launches BlackBerry Prepaid Plans

MTNL Mumbai has launched BlackBerry services for it’s Prepaid Customers. Earlier these plans were available on postpaid.There is a BlackBerry BIS Lite plan which offers unlimited email and BBM for Rs.251 per month. BlackBerry Torch 9810 Review


Here is the FoneArena review of the BlackBerry Torch 2 9810. This is the successor of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 that was launched last year. The BlackBerry Torch 2 was launched in India this August. Both the Torch and torch 2 has similar design including the dimensions, but there are improvements in the display resolution and hardware. It has 8 GB onboard memory that is expandable up to 32GB with MicroSD and 768 MB RAM which is better than the Torch. It is 14.6 mm thick and weighs  161 g. RIM is showing a preview of the OS 2.0 software for the BlackBerry PlayBook at CES 2012 this week.Native email might finally arrive on the tablet. The best part is the ability to remote control the Playbook using a BlackBerry handset. BlackBerry Playbook has been sold out in the retail outlets in India within days after the price drop, according to a report from Times of India. RIM announced a temporary price cut on the BlackBerry Playbook last week that starts from Rs.13,490 in India.
