Alcatel, the French smartphone company, has finally launched the One Touch Idol X+ in India. Announced way back in December, we first saw the phone at CES. While the company took its own sweet time in bringing the device to India, it still remains relevant due to the presence of competitive specifications and above average build quality. The company has partnered with Flipkart to handle distribution much like Motorola. We got to spend some time with this octa core handset that enters an already crowded market, here’s our first impressions of the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+. Alcatel refreshes the One Touch series with super thin Idol Alpha, Idol S and Idol Mini smartphones

Alcatel, the French company well known for its Enterprise level communications equipment is also responsible for some of the consumer facing devices in the One Touch range of Android Smartphones. After launching the One Touch Idol X, the flagship of the portfolio, the company has also released three other phones in all sizes and prices. The three new phones that have launched in the One Touch series are the Idol Alpha, the Idol S and the Idol Mini. This is along with the new Phablet and the Tablet from the same series.

Alcatel One Touch Hero with 6 inch 1080p display and various accessories announced

Alcatel is a name usually less related with the smartphone industry and the French company are now trying to change that fact. Alcatel has just announced their One Touch Hero phablet which competes with most other 6 inch+ devices.

Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD Hands On

Alongside the lower end Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy, the French company also launcher a higher end variant of the phone. Called the Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD the phone has the same form factor but steps up the game in terms of specifications.

The screen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 and is quite vibrant to look at. That said, the display isn’t really what you’d expect on a top end device with the increasing focus towards full HD screens. The IPS panel is 5 inches in size. Continue reading “Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD Hands On”

Alcatel launched a range of new devices at the Mobile World Congress and we went hands on with the Alcatel One Touch Scribe. Aimed at the phablet market but at a budget price segment, the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy is equipped with a 5inch WVGA display which isn’t particularly sharp to look at.

Last week we were at the Idea Cellular’s Mumbai office for the launch of Idea 3G Dual Sim smartphone iD-918 priced at Rs. 5994. This is Idea’s 3rd Android smartphone launched in India and it runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).
